New Years Eve with the Volturi
The Volturi are very serious people sometimes. It was clear to see that when Felix walked into the elite guard's lounge area and found everyone sitting completely still. Aro was gracious enough to give the guards the night off, seeing as it was New Years Eve, but instead of celebrating the new year, the guards sat silently still, as if it was any other day.
We aren't going to have that... Felix thought to himself.
Felix found himself pulling Demetri down the hall to help him with his plan, much to Demetri's dismay. After filling him in on his thoughts, Felix found an old stereo and with the help of Demetri, the two were able to get some music to play. The two smiled at each other.
"Is it party time?" Felix asked Demetri.
"According to you it is. But none the less, let's...party?" Felix high fived him, a gesture which Demetri didn't fully understand.
"Now we're talking. You are getting better with your modern day speech!" Demetri groaned as he and Felix began to move the stereo down to the lounge area.
"IT'S PARTY TIME!" Felix shouted as he ran down the hall into the lounge. Demetri chuckled. As crazy as Felix could be, he was still Demetri's best friend (as Felix called them) and he did like helping Felix with his trouble making schemes. The other guard members just stared at the two of them.
"Felix what is the meaning of this?" Heidi asked him, examining her nails.
"It's New Years Eve people! And yet you sit here like statues, as if that means nothing! Another year of our eternal existence is ending, and its a year that we will never be able to get back!"
"Aro didn't give us the night off just so we could sit around and do nothing. I'm sure the humans are having more fun celebrating the new year than all of you combined." Demetri added, hoping that the possibility of a challenge would provoke the competitive side of the twins. Alec stood up out of his seat.
"What makes you think that Demetri?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Like Felix said before...you all are sitting here like STATUES! I bet statues are having more fun than you right now." Jane stood up and copied the facial expression of her brother. Demetri smirked, knowing that his plan worked.
"You think that statues have more fun than us?" She questioned.
"There is no way that anyone; human or statue, has more fun than us." Alec stated as he walked over to the stereo and turned the music up. Felix smiled as the other guard members stood up out of their seats as well.
"Is it party time people?" He asked. A chorus of terms of agreement filled the air.

Later on in the night, the masters walked by the lounge area. The three watched for a moment as the guard continued to celebrate. Jane and Alec were spinning in circles around each other, Felix and Demetri stood on top of chairs chugging blood bags, and the other were either dancing or cheering on Felix and Demetri as they continued to gulp down the blood bags. The ancient vampires shared a confused look.
"Is this how people celebrate the new year nowadays?" Caius asked.
"It appears so." Marcus muttered.
"It's almost frightening."
"Nonsense Caius, they are just enjoying themselves. We will just have the secretary put in an order for more blood bags tomorrow. Let them celebrate!" Aro exclaimed.
"Look at those two, they are going to make a mess if they keep drinking those blood bags like that." Caius commented.
"Well perhaps you ought to show them how its done?" Marcus suggested in his usual boring tone. Caius shook his head. Aro smiled slyly.
"I bet I can consume more blood bags than you can." He challenged.
"You cannot!"
"How can you be so sure?"
"Because I am!"
"I still think that I would win." Aro glanced over at Caius who looked very angry.
"Fine then!" He began walking to where Felix and Demetri were. Aro and Marcus followed.
"How many more of those do you have left?" Caius asked the two.
"About sixty." Demetri responded. Felix looked between Aro and Caius. Aro looked like he was going to burst from laughter while Caius looked like his anger was going to blow his head clear off his body.
"I don't like where this is going..." Felix muttered to himself as he pulled the cooler of blood bags out from behind him.
Once Aro and Caius were all set, Demetri and Felix went stand in front of the clock with the other guard members as they began counting down to the new year.
"5...4...3...2...1...HAPPY NEW YEAR!" They all screamed as Caius and Aro gulped down blood bags. At the last stroke of midnight, the two stopped and looked over at Marcus.
"Marcus...who drank more?" Caius asked eagerly. Marcus sighed loudly.
"I was watching the clock...not you two. How should I know?" Caius let out a yell while Aro tried his best to fight his laughter.
