I was walking around the halls checking that everything was in place and making sure everyone was doing their job. Balloons? Check. Banners? Check. Food? Check. Everything looked good for my mom's 40th birthday. I walked into the kitchen and I was amazed by the aromas that filled the air. I got a sneak peak at all the delicious food, especially the cake. As I turned the corner; however, I started getting suspicious. A young boy around 14 was there, eating bread, thinking no one could see him. At first I thought he was one of my mom's friend's child. He didn't look familiar though. Then, that's when I realize he must be a thief. Wait till I get through him. I walk toward him and tap the back of his shoulder. As soon as I do, he jumps, nearly terrified to death. He turns around to look at me. Yep, he was definitely around my age. I could tell he was probably a beggar because of his clothes. That must be why he's taking the food.
"S-Sorry! I-I'll just leave now!" the boy yells.
I then felt really bad. He's just looking for food. The boy's about to walk out when I stop him.
"Where are your parents?" I ask him.
His expression turns from fright to sorrow.
"I don't have any parents" he replies.
At this point, I really felt back for him. Not only is he a beggar, but he's also an orphan.
"I won't bother you anymore" the boy says.
Again, he's about to walk out when I stop him.
"You don't have to go. You obviously are struggling without any parents, but I'll help you with that. Please, have all the food you need" I say with a smile.
This causes the boy to smile back. I extend my hand forward to finally greet him.
"I'm Molly" I say.
The boy takes my hand and greets me.
"Baelfire" he replies.Without a home, without food, and without parents, I decided to take in Baelfire. Only problem....my parents don't know about it. He's been living in the attic which is a place my parents hardly went. I would sneak food out to him and I gave him all he needed to be comfortable. Every night, I would go visit him and we'd talk for hours. One day I decided to take it a step forward.
"Baelfire?" I ask him.
"Yes?" he says.
"What happened to your parents?" I ask.
I really hope that wasn't taking it too far. I was just really curious. I hear Baelfire sigh.
"Well...my mom was killed by a pirate and well....my dad is not dead he's just....gone" he says.
"Gone? Gone how? And a pirate? Pirates don't exist anymore" I ask him.
"Listen Molly, I have to tell you something that you don't know about me and you may find me crazy but it's the truth" he says.
"Try me" I say.
Baelfire takes a breath and says, "Where I come from...many magnificent things exist. From fairies to dragons to...pirates. And one important thing that lives in this world is magic."
"Magic?" I say.
He nods and continues.
"In my world, my dad is considered the dark one. He has the most power and everyone fears him. I tried making him get rid of his magic but he wouldn't, which caused me to be sent here."
"Do you think you'll be able to get back to him?" I ask.
"I don't know. And even if there is a way, I wouldn't want to get back to him" Baelfire says.
"Baelfire, even if your father did some bad things, he's still your father and he still loves you. I bet you he's looking for you right now" I say.
He just shrugs.
"If he really loved me, he would've listened to me and got rid of his magic that way I wouldn't be here. And because of his great power, everyone avoided me, believing me to become just like him. For the longest time....I had no friends" he replies.
It upset me the way Baelfire was talking about his own father.
"But if you weren't here, I wouldn't have met you. And don't say you have no friends. You got one right here" I say with a smile.
I then reach for Baelfire's hand and hold onto it. A smile manages to creep onto his face as well.
"Yeah, I honestly like it here. No magic, amazing sites, and kind people...like you" he says.
A small blush crept onto my face and I really hope it wasn't noticeable.
"You're a really good friend. Your not judgmental or anything" he says.
"I try to see the best in people" I say.
Baelfire smiles. A couple seconds of silence passes by. Suddenly, I decide to break it.
"Well goodnight!" I yell.
Then I kiss Bealfire's cheek and hurry off into bed.
Now
Neal's P.O.V.
I blink my eyes open and look at my clock. It reads 6:00. I stand up and rub my eyes. I don't think I'll be able to fall back asleep now. I look to my right and see Tamara getting ready for her morning jog.
"Something wrong?" she asks.
"No, no. I just.....I just had a dream is all. Actually....it was a memory" I say.Well there you have it folks! I hoped you enjoyed it! Just to clear something up. Molly does not have a fairytale counterpart. I also hope I got some things right. I haven't watched Once Upon a Time in a while. Also, I'm not sure about the years and how old people are so supposed. I believe Baelfire is supposed to be 13 or 14 when he lands in the human world (which I believe is around 1991) and by the time the show takes place (around 2011 or so) he's supposed to be in his 30s. Nevertheless, I hope it was good! Please leave comments but no flames.
