I was with Liam in the boys locker room along with Mason as Liam told us his horrible tryout for captaincy and we told him the idea of the ghost riders holding someone up. "They must've had someone up there." Mason said as the two boys put the lacrosse gear away. I on the other hand, sat pretty in my ripped grey jeans and white shirt with my vans. My black hair in a fish rain over one shoulder. Lately I've been wishing for my hair to be blonde again, kind've missing the old me a bit. "I mean that's the only logical explanation."

"How do you know?" Liam asked but something about his voice made me look at the side of his face with concern.

"Logic." Mason answered. "And Corey has a hunch."

"With that chameleon thing?" I looked to Mason who had a look of disbelief on his face at the tone of Liam's voice. "I thought all he can do was disappear."

"Corey just wants to help." Mason states.

"Yeah, where was he the night we were fighting to save you? And why was he loyal to Theo for so long?" Liam asks.

"There was a time we all trusted Theo." Mason says.

"Phoebe didn't." Liam says putting me on the spot as the two looked at me.

"Don't put me on the spot Liam." I said kindly but firmly. "Besides you also trusted Theo."

"I'll trust him when he does something trustworthy." Liam says. "Unlike right now when I can hear his heart racing from across the room." Mason and I turned to see Corey appear from the wall.

"What about Hayden? You forgave her no problem." Corey stated.

"She almost died that night trying to stop Sebastian," Liam walked up to Corey with a look that had me worried. "All you did was hide."

"What was I supposed to do? You and Hayden have claws and fangs."

"Yeah Liam look it's not like chameleons are the apex predator in the animal kingdom." Mason says.

"All Corey can do is disappear." I said before realising how it sounded. "Sorry Corey I didn't mean for it to sound like that." I gave him an apologetic look as Corey looked hurt.

"Then maybe that's what he should do." Liam said before walking away.

"Liam." I called and ran after him. "Liam wait."

"Phoebe I'm not talking about it." Liam said over his shoulder as he kept walking.

"To hell you ain't." I gripped his arm and forced him to face me. "Look hating Corey may work for you and Scott and everyone else, but it's not working for me or for Mason." I gave him a look and let go of his arm, keeping space between us. "Think about how this is effecting Mason, you guys are basically asking him to choose between you and Corey and Mason would soon hurt himself than a butterfly."

Liam was shaking his head and staring at me with hurt filled eyes. "How can you be friends with someone who was loyal to Theo for so long and who hid when we were all risking our lives?"

I gave him a sad look. "Because he was my friend when nobody else was. He turned away the first time he saw me because he thought you all still accepted me, when he found out you didn't he was there. Liam he's like my brother. I'm just asking you to come to a better solution than a hating relationship, you don't have to be friends but acquaintances is better than anything else."

With that I walked past Liam, who was staring after me with sadness. Instead of leaving I waited outside the room Liam was changing in. Sitting on the floor I thought about how much Corey was there for me when I needed him and how he needed someone like Mason in his life.
