Chapter 7

Nilagay na namin ang mga pinamili namin sa kotse niya.

"Are you hungry?" He asked.

"No."

"Good."

I smiled. So he likes Mcdonalds huh? What a coincidence. And I remembered that he used that word(coincidence) in flirting. Eew. Remind me to erase that word from my dictionary.

I ordered chicken fillet with rice plus one extra rice, large french fries, cheese burger, and Mcfloat while he ordered three cheese burgers, extra large fries, chicken with 2 rice, and strawberry sundae. I chuckled at the latter.

"What's funny?"

I pointed the strawberry sundae. "You like pink." I chuckled.

"No, I like strawberry."

I shrugged but continued chuckling. He groaned. After a bit, I started eating. I really love their cheese burger and fries.

"You're eating like a pig." I coughed. I quickly grabbed my Mcfloat.

"Don't say like that to a girl. That's rude."

"I'm not rude 'cause I don't say anything like that to a girl."

"You just said it to me!"

"Yes. To you. Not to a girl." He smirked.

I glared at him. Can I stab his face with my pork now?

My phone rings.

"Jeon."

"Where are you?"

"Uhm, Mcdonalds."

"Alone?"

"No. I've got company."

"With whom?"

"Kaiden."

"What?! Why?"

"Remember the project I told you? That's why. We have to buy the ingredients so that it would not be a hustle on weekdays."

"You're buying the ingredients in Mcdonalds?"

"No. Tapos na kasi kami and since we're already starving, we decided to take our lunch here."

"Ok. Text me the address and I'm gonna fetch you."

"No It's ok. We're done. Pauwi na din ako."

"That's why you should text me the address."

So I texted him the address.

"Who's that? Nagging boyfriend?"

"No and I don't have a boyfriend."

He grinned.

"Jeon!" I waved at him. He jogged towards us.

"Jeon?" -Kaiden

"Kaiden. Long time no talk."

"Yeah. Like when was the last time?"

"It's when you decided to be a snake."

"You really can't get over her don't you?" He chuckled while putting his arms around my shoulder.

"Don't touch her!" He grabbed my arms. "We're leaving." He continued as he dragged me.

"Having new girlfriend while still have feelings from your ex? Tsk. Tsk."

Within a flash, I saw Kaiden sitting on the floor while holding his jaw. I gasped.

"Don't talk like you know everything!" He spat and dragged me away from the place.

Within the car, I ocasionally glanced at him while he's steering the wheel.

"You know you can ask." 

"Why did you called him snake?"

"'Cause he is."

"Why? What happened?"

He sighed and brushed his fingers through his hair. "I caught him and my ex girlfriend making out."

"When?"

"2 years ago."

I nodded. "What did he explained?"

"The usual cheater explanation. He said it's not what I think. And I'm not that stupid. Eyes can't lie!" He stomp his hand on the wheel.

"Anong sabi ng ex mo? 

His eyes softened. "She apologized. She said Kaiden threatened her. She looks scared back then."

"So you forgive her."

He nodded. "She left me. She went states. She said she can't forgive herself and that she's not the one I deserved to have. 

"Tell me, gaano mo na siya kakilala?"

"What do you mean?"

"Ilang taon na kayong magkakilala?"

"5 years."

"How about Kaiden?"

He groaned. "He was my bestfriend. We were neighbors back then."

I nodded. He killed the car engine. Hindi ko namalayan na nandito na pala kami sa parking lot ng apartment.

"Piece of advice Jeon. You see, I'm not taking sides here but, we can't just depend the truth from our eyes. That's why we have many senses. And that's include this." I pointed his chest where his heart beats. 

"And what do you mean by that?" He replied narrowing his eyes.

I sighed. "Alam kong alam mo ang ibig sabihin non." I unbuckled my seatbelt. Hindi ko na siya hinintay na ipagbukas ako ng pinto ng kotse.
