What'd Tom miss! (On Hold)

Chapter 9

I stare in shock at what I held inside my hand. For the most part, I didn't understand it. But, I got the main point.

Inside the envelope, was a bunch of documents, stating that Tom was trying to get custody of me. I didn't understand how he could even do that, because I'm over 18.

I gasped and ran to my Mother. She immediately knew what it was about and said, " I know"

" But, how is that even possible? I'm over 18" I say, cuddling into my mother on the couch.

" It's possible because he's your biological brother, " my mother said as tears welled in my eyes.

" But, I don't want to leave you guys. You all are my family. I love all of you. I barely know Tom, " I say as a couple tears slipped from my eye.

"Hey, hey, hey, don't cry, " Mom said, pulling me tighter into her.

" Hey, what's wrong?" Dad says, coming into the living room.

I go to my room and grab the documents. I run back to him and hand them to him. His eyes scan the documents, widening as they go.

" Can he do that?" Dad asks, anger in his eyes.

Mom sadly nods. I get up, leaving the adults to discuss what our next move is. I go to the bathroom and wipe my tears.

Than, I decided to text Anthony and ask if he wanted to go somewhere, anywhere.
