As I hop into Anthony's car, I blurt out everything that just happened. He listens calmly and pulls me into a hug when I'm finished.
" Why did he have to come and ruin everything?" I say, tears welling up in my eyes.
" Well, you don't want to go with him, right?" Anthony says, pulling away from the hug, but still holding me tightly.
" Of course not. I love Mom and Dad and Sebastian, " I say, wiping my eyes.
" Well, the court will take that into consideration. Everything will be okay, baby, " Anthony says.
" God, I love you, " I whisper as I straighten up.
" I love you too, Emma, " Anthony says, giving me one of his genuine smiles.
" Where are we going today?" I say, as Anthony starts the car.
He just smiles as he drives. I roll my eyes at his mysteriousness but lay back and wait for the adventure to begin.
