"Hi," I said awkwardly and instead of just standing here like an idiot, I walked into the kitchen and grabbed myself some coffee. I leaned against the counter and stared at Chris as he was staring back me, both holding our coffee and every few seconds taking a sip. "So, been hunting anything lately?" Stupid question, but it was the only one I could think off. "Actually we have," Chris said after a few seconds of very, very awkward silence. "You don't happen to know anything about a giant lizard running around Beacon Hills?" "I've seen it and heard what it can do, but I have no idea who it is." Total lie, and I'm not sure if Chris bought it or not. "Hmm," was the only thing Chris said since Allison was coming down the stairs.

"Dad. I didn't hear you guys come home last night." "You were already asleep," he said and kissed his daughter on the head before looking at me again. "You both were." Allison's cheek turned red and looked at the floor, while I was looking at her. "You two should get ready for school." With those words Chris left us alone and I snorted. "My parents need to learn to not check up on me at night." "They care about you. Me not so much and they probably don't trust me that much either." I handed Allison a cup of coffee and together we had some breakfast before leaving for school.

At some point Gerard wanted to talk to Allison about something and being the curious person that I am, I listened in on them from a distance. I didn't have class anyway. "So, who did you say you were studying with tonight?" "Just Lydia and Rebekah. We're prepping for our world history midterm." Allison's heartbeat was surprisingly steady. "History was one of my favourites. Especially military history." Of course it is. "Ever hear the phrase, 'know thy enemy'?" "It's from 'the art of war' by Sun Tzu." Every word in that sentence was said with confidence. That's my girl. "Very good," Gerard said. "Know what it means?" "In order to win a battle, one must know everything they can about their enemy." Where is Gerard going with all these questions? "Right again."

"Your father and I happen to be having that very problem. We've got an enemy about which we know next to nothing." No Allison, not now. Please keep it together. Her heart sped up a little. "It's killed one of our own, among others." "I've heard," Allison whispered. "Did you hear Jackson Whittemore didn't show to school today?" Again, her heart started beating faster. "He didn't?" "His parents called and so did the police." Scott and Stiles better have done something to cover everything up, but by the sound of this conversation it seems like they have fucked up, big time.

"You wouldn't know anything about that, would you?" Just as Allison was about to answer Scott walked up to me. "Hey, what are you-" "Shut up! I'm trying to listen," I hissed at him and he frowned at me. I turned my head again to the direction where Gerard and Allison's conversation is coming from.
