"Come my love, be one with the sea; rule with me for eternity."
"Drown all dreams so mercilessly-"
"And leave their souls to me..."Jonathan opened his eyes to hear shouting and noises; work was being done on the ship. He sat up and stretched as he looked around. He hoped it was a nightmare, but he was still in a cage on a pirate ship. He groaned as he blocked the heavy sunlight from his face. The cage began to go down and he came face to face with a pirate.
"On yer feet maggot!," he ordered.
Jonathan growled as he got up, brushing himself off. The cage door swung open and he was roughly dragged out.
"Captain Vanoss wishes to see ye," the man continued, "Try anythin' and ye be meetin' the blue."
He pushed Jonathan forward and he made eye contact with the pirate captain Vanoss as he learned; the man had tan skin, black hair, and deep brown eyes. Jonathan would lie if the man wasn't attractive, but he still scowled at him. Vanoss just grinned.
"Hope you're enjoying your stay on board my ship," he chuckled at his own joke.
Jonathan let out a sarcastic laugh.
"Oh yeah," Jonathan continued his sarcasm, "I loved my room, especially the bars. It's very welcoming."
Vanoss only smirked.
"Glad you think so."
Jonathan sent a cold death glare at him. Vanoss snapped his fingers and a pirate came up to him with a sword. Jonathan swallowed dryly as Vanoss walked up to him; he presented the sword.
"You know how to fence?," the captain asked.
Jonathan reached out and took the sword in his hand; the pirates cleared everything as Vanoss brought out his own sword.
This is insane!, Jonathan screamed in his head, I can't fight! I don't know how to use a sword!
Vanoss took a swing at him, and Jonathan brought his sword up to block his attack. Three more came his way, and he was still able to block them. Soon Jonathan began to learn the moves by watching and began to strike back with his own force; all the while Vanoss kept the same sneaky grin on his face. Jonathan saw a rope, holding on tightly and cutting the other side, sending him straight up to the mast. Vanoss followed close behind.
Jonathan blocked another attack from him and began to feel himself getting closer to the edge. The crew down below were adding commentary, cheering for their captain. Vanoss sent a hard blow, and Jonathan held back against it. Their swords were in a deadly lock, pushing back and forth against each other.
"You're a strong fighter," Vanoss complemented.
Jonathan felt himself loosing inch by inch; he used the rest of his strength to shove him back and kick him in the chest. Vanoss grunted, but blocked Jonathan's attack without a flaw. Jonathan let a grunt of annoyance as he began to push Vanoss back. The pirate captain began to lose his smile as he concentrated more. Jonathan thought he finally had the upper hand.
Vanoss gave him a grin. Jonathan looked confused, but he felt a foot kick his feet from under him, and he lost his balance. He held onto the wooden beam as his sword slipped from his hand.
No!, Jonathan's eyes widened.
He looked back up to see the pointed end of a sword in his face and he looked back up in the captain's eyes to see a smirk of triumph.
"Know your place," Vanoss said, "For you'll find yourself dead if you don't."
Vanoss sheathed his sword, and offered a hand to help Jonathan up. Jonathan took his hand. The pirate captain helped him up, but didn't let go of his hand yet.
His skin is so soft and smooth, Vanoss looked down at it, rubbing his thumb against Jonathan's hand, It's like smooth stone, only...softer...
Jonathan began to feel awkward, so he took his hand back. Vanoss fixed his composure, looking up with a cheeky smile before going back down to his crew; he ordered them back to work.
"Come down," he ordered Jonathan, "I want a word with you."
Jonathan came down and followed him to his quarters. He'll admit, the room looked amazing, but he kept his eyes focused on the captain. Vanoss sat down in his chair and looked at him.
"So," Vanoss started, "Can I have a name?"
"Denis," Jonathan answered bluntly.
"Is that first or last name?"
"Last name."
Vanoss hummed as he watched Jonathan closely. He thought of ways to keep his eye on him, besides putting him in a cage. It was a long trip back to their, meaning him and the other pirate captains, secret base. He wanted to get to know "Mr. Denis" more.
"I'll tell you what Mr. Denis," Vanoss leaned back in his chair, "How about you join me for dinner. We'll discuss topics of interest."
Jonathan raised a brow, to which Vanoss did in return. He thought about it, noticing he was pretty hungry.
"Fine," Jonathan grumbled.
Vanoss got up from his seat; he walked over to Jonathan, and gently grabbed his chin, making him look him in the eye.
"I didn't catch that," Vanoss teased.
"I'll join you for dinner," Jonathan growled.
"Great."
Vanoss let him go and nudged him out the door. Jonathan kept scowling for he was placed back in his cage. It seemed that night time took forever, but it soon came. A crew member came by with a stack of clothes and boots.
"Cap'in requested you put this on," the man said.
The outfit conceited of a black shirt, black pants- hell, even the boots were black. Once Jonathan put the outfit on he was escorted back to Vanoss's quarters were below there was a table full of food awaiting him. Vanoss was sitting comfortably in his chair, sipping on a goblet full of wine. He looked up at Jonathan and smirked.
"Come, take a seat," he told him.
Jonathan took the chair next to him, sitting down; he was way beyond on edge, his whole body tense. A plate of food was placed in front of him, along with a cup of wine. Before he was about to take a bite, he spotted something. A pair of big, round, golden eyes. And they stared straight at him.
