Evan kept gazing out onto the water as he watched and waited for any sign of the Flying Dutchman. He had a crew in hand that followed his orders. It wasn't complete with Jonathan; his Jonathan. They have been sailing for almost two weeks, and he still couldn't get Jonathan out of his head. It was almost like a curse.
"Ship ahead!," yelled someone, "Tis the Dutchman!"
Evan looked and sure enough saw the Flying Dutchman coming forth from beyond the waves. He glared at it. His friends readied their weapons as the ship came to a halt in front of them. Evan felt tears coming, but he stopped them; Gold Piece, who remained on the pirate island and was retrieved (sorry I haven't mentioned him in a while), sat on his shoulder.
"Prepare to pay for your crimes!," Mark yelled.
CaRtOoNz let out a laugh when he heard him. He was going to say something witty, but a pulse came from the water. Storm clouds circled above them as the water began to move in a unending circle. Something erupted from the middle, and there standing was Jonathan, his porcelain toned skin almost seeming paler, and his hair darker from being wet. He was standing on something, but it was impossible to see.
Evan felt tears go down his cheeks as he saw him, but everyone felt the cold hand of fear clench their hearts as tentacles slithered from the water. One came up next to him, and he stroked it lightly.
"Jonathan," Evan gasped out.
"Enough of this!," CaRtOoNz yelled, "Fire!"
Cannons fired and the bullets headed straight for Jonathan; the tentacles swatted them out of the way like flies. Everyone stared in surprise, horror, and shock as they watched the shadow covered face of Jonathan turned towards the Flying Dutchman.
"Behold the ocean's new master," Jonathan, his voice dark and echoey, said, "No one will be safe from my wrath, and all will fear me."
Soon the tentacles shot back into the water, and a dark shadow raced towards the Flying Dutchman, where on board the people panicked, some even jumping overboard. Jonathan smiled evilly as a whirlpool formed, him disappearing into it.
"What do we do?!," Jack cried out as they began to get pulled in, "Jonathan's out of control! And how the fuck is he doing this?!"
Evan kept searching the water for his lost love; he stood on the edge of his ship.
"Vanoss!," Brian screamed as he watched him dive in the water.
Evan felt the cold water encase him as he was dragged into the whirling circle. Salt water burned his eyes as he tried to look for Jonathan. Many sailors that couldn't hold on, or were dragged in by the sea monster were swung around wildly in the water. Evan managed to breach the surface to take a breath before being forced back under.
Where are you?!, he screamed in his head.
Something glinted in the dark. Evan breached for the last time before swimming down to see what it was, allowing the whirlpool to help drag him down. Everything became dark, and Evan couldn't tell if he was unconscious. When he opened his eyes, he found himself on a beach, the sun setting in the background. He felt different, and looked down at his hands to see that they were child like.
I'm a kid?, he questioned, How is that possible?!
He heard footsteps behind him, gasping in surprise. He turned around to see Jonathan, his Jonathan, standing there, only he too was a child.
"How did you get here?," Jonathan asked.
"I...I don't know," Evan responded, cringing at his tiny voice.
"Well, I think my mother could help."
Jonathan grasped Evan's hand, dragging him to an old house sitting on top of a hill. It took all of Evan's might not to grasp Jonathan in his arms and cry. He knew that something was off, and that he had to find out what. When entering the home, there was a woman cooking at the stove, humming an all too familiar tune.
Calypso..., Evan grew scared.
As if the woman heard him, she turned her gaze to the small children. It was as if he was looking at a woman version of his love, only she had darker freckles, and rough curly hair. She wore a brown, ragged dress, and a locket around her neck.
"My sweet Jonathan," when she spoke her voice was sweet and gentle, "Where did you find this child."
"He was just standing there," Jonathan answered.
Calypso kneeled down infront of Evan as he shook like a leaf. Jonathan still hadn't let go of his hand, and grew a little worried when he felt the other boy's hand tremble.
"Jonathan," the lady spoke, "Why don't you go up to your room and find a clean blanket. He must be very cold, and very confused."
Jonathan nodded, letting go of Evan's hand to go up a small set of stairs. Evan looked at Calypso who stood back up.
"You do not belong here Evan," she said, "Or, captain Vanoss."
"How did you know?," Evan asked.
"Jonathan is stuck in a dangerous zone, and when scared, he thinks of the happiest memory of me..."
"But, how do I get out?"
"I will have to send you to see Davy Jones; he will give you something that you will find valuable, and will get you out of here."
"That's impossible! Davy Jones-"
In the blink of an eye he found himself on a ship, back to his normal age as he saw a much older man in front of him. He was exactly what Davy Jones looked like; especially in the book.
"You know, I knew and didn't knew that I had a child, more or less a son," the man sighed, "I can't come onto land for ten years so I didn't get the chance to know him. I didn't know why my love Calypso hid him away, but I would have done anything to protect her and our child. She understands that now."
He turned toward Evan with sad eyes.
"I can't see what he looks like. I can't tell him that I love him."
Evan thought for a moment; an idea popped in his head. He concentrated on his memories of Jonathan till they were in front of him. Davy's eyes widened as he watch Jonathan laugh and have fun with his friends, the view of Calypso's locket around his neck. Davy smiled sadly, he then reached under his coat and pulled out a exact copy of the necklace. He took it off and placed it around Evan's neck.
"Just open the locket, it will bring you back," Davy explained, "Save my son."
Evan opened it, and the world around him spun so rapidly that he thought he couldn't breath.
