"I think its best we talk about this, Abagail." Stated father.

Rolling my eyes, I leant back in my chair. The meeting had gone on after my little mishap, and the riders all agreed that moving the camp was important. Talios had gone on to explain we had stayed in this camp for about four months now, and if we wanted to stay undetected by Toban then we needed to move.

Although I wasn't keen on the move, I knew in order to protect the people traveling with us we had to go. William wanted to send all the surviving people to another safe haven not too far from here, whilst the soldiers and riders made their way to the new camp. I agreed with him. Doing this, if we were caught no innocent lives would be taken.

Leaning back in my chair, I gazed across the table at my father. He looked clean shaven, his hair tied back. Letting out a breath I hadn't realised I was holding, I tilted my head as I gazed at him. "There's nothing to talk about with you. All has been said."

"Not about your mother." He said.

Frowning, I leaned closer. "What about mother?" I was curious with what he wanted to say about her.

Taking a deep breath he sighed. His eyes seemed to flash with guilt, as he gazed back at me. "When the village was attacked, your mother aided the villagers to a few waiting riders." Pausing, he looked at William for a brief second before continuing. "By the time your mother made sure everyone was safe, it was too late."

Uncrossing my arms, I moved my gaze to William. He was looking down at the table, his fists clenched. "Where is she?" I whispered. No one answered. Clenching my jaw, I took a deep breath. Gazing back at father, I gritted my teeth as tears pooled in my eyes. "Where... is she?"

His jaw clenched as his gaze moved to the table. "She didn't make it."

A gasp left my lips as my heart sank.

With a shake of his head, Father stood. "The Rogues had gotten to her before we could." Closing my eyes, I fought the tears that threatened to fall. Taking a deep breath, I tried to stop my beating heart. Clearing my throat, I went to speak but was stopped by someone yelling for the king. Jumping to his feet, William moved to the back of my chair as if someone was coming for me.

Bursting through the doors, a guard dressed in armour struggled to catch his breath as he bowed to William.

"What is so important that you must rush in here?" Stepping closer to the guard, I watched Williams shoulders move back. This was King William. Long gone was the caring William I knew. Now he meant business.

Standing straight, the guard took a deep breath. "I'm sorry to disturb your meeting, my King. The prisoner you had placed in the tent, has vanished."

"What?" Yelled father. Moving to the guard, father glared at him. "How has he vanished when you were meant to be watching him?"

Bowing his head in regret, I watched the guard stumble over his words. "I'm sorry we.... I was standing there when I felt like something wasn't right. When I looked through the tents flap, I noticed him missing."

Sighing, William turned away from the guard. "Call all guards and let them know we are on high alert. Put the innocent people in the mess tent. I want that place locked down." Turning back to the guard, I watched his face harden. "You find him, I want him dead."

Shocked, I stood from my chair. "William-."

"I'm not letting him try to kill you again." He said cutting me off. "This time... he dies."
