After what had happened, king Arod had summoned the council for an emergency meeting. Something wasn't right and we could all feel it. The air seemed more thick and heavy than it had only a day ago. Now that Markus could reach me at any given time, I would be lying if I said I wasn't afraid.
I still didn't understand why or how he was back. I know I had killed him, and every time I played the scene out in my head it ended the exact same way. Death. There was no explanation as to how he was alive.Sighing, I sunk down further into the dark wooden chair. On either side of me was Luca and William. William had refused to leave my side since I entered the room, as for Luca he pushed an elderly Elf out of the seat before throwing a smirk my way.
Sighing, I ran my fingers across the mark on my cheek. I was still confused as to how I was able to be hurt when my body was still left here. I had wished that it was all but another vision but with me being able to sustain injuries, it was anything but a vision. Dark magic was definitely stronger than it had ever been.
I could feel it coursing through my veins, the feeling almost exciting to me. Closing my eyes I listened in on the conversations around me."Her safety is at a bigger risk now." Shouted Robert.
"She has always been in danger being Toban's daughter, and if we don't give her back we are all as good as dead."
"Councillor Har, may I remind you if we give her to Toban we will all be dead regardless." King Arod spoke. "We must protect our new great book with our life. I will not have another remake of what happened to my sister."
Opening my eyes I gazed at Arod. His pale skin had a red tinged to it, his anger clearly starting to show. The sound of a chair scraping against the ground echoed through the room as Councillor Har stood up, hands planted on the table.
"If we hand her over to Toban, he will leave us in peace. He has been searching for her since she was taken away."
"Are you saying this is my fault?" Smirking, Robert gazed at the elf. "If I hadn't taken her and Sarah away, they both would be dead, or worse we would all be Toban's slave."
Shaking his head, Har slammed his palm down on the table "I will not allow our people to die because of a young girl."
Leaning forward, William frowned. "This young girl was chosen by the late Great Book to take her place. How else do you think they were able to get to her?"
Sighing, I sat up. "If it's going to cause this much of a fight between your people, may I suggest something?"
Nodding, Arod gestured for me to continue. Looking down at the table, I took a deep breath. "If Toban wants me, then let me go."
Luca and William both shouted in protest, along with Roberts angry disapproval.
Shocked at the sudden outburst, I turned to gaze at William. He looked furious. His chest was moving with each deep breath he took, his blue eyes burning brighter than before. Grasping his hand I gave it a gentle squeeze.
"Calm down." I whispered.
Closing his eyes, he shook his head. "I will not allow anyone to send Abagail away. There must be another way to stop this."
With a gentle smile, Arod turned to me. "Tell me what you had seen, child."
Frowning, I thought back to what I had happened. Closing my eyes I recalled the advents. "I was in the training room when I got pain in my head."
"What did you do to cause that pain?" whispered Robert.
Taking in a deep breath, I answered. "I used magic."
