The World Is Still Beautiful (King Livius)

Chapter Five

Nike insisted to bring Hiru and Kei over.. Her reason was she noticed Amari looking sad at times and Nike concluded the girl must be missing her foster father and brother..

"King Livius. I don't get why you are even keeping Amari here. If you don't like outsiders coming to live here in the palace then why not just send Amari back to her family?"

"You question me?" Livius asked Neil with a raised eyebrow.

"I don't mean it in a bad way my king. I just am befuddled on why Amari is even here. She didn't commit any crime-"

"She interrupted my decree."

"But that wasn't her. That was her foster bro-"

"She was the reason was it not?"

Neil was about to protest when he bit back his tongue. Livius hasn't changed in being stubborn though..

"Livius! They're here!" Nike yelled excitedly as she entered his office.

"And? I'm supposed to be excited about this?"

"Livius! This is for Amari's own good! I'll be throwing a welcome party tonight for them in the hall!"

"Hmph. I'll be busy with work."

"Livius come on don't be like that!" Nike put on her best puppy face look for her husband.

Livius sighed before giving a nod..

The celebration was in full swing when Kei pulled Amari to follow him into the garden.

When they were alone, Kei hugged Amari tightly to him.

"I thought I would never see you again..." Kei whispered as he kissed the top of Amari's head, noticing the ribbon in her hair..

"Hey.. It makes me happy to know you're wearing my gift.." Kei chuckled softly as he looked down into Amari's violet eyes.

Amari smiled before hugging him back..

"*tsk* You two are disgusting."

Kei whirled around while still hugging Amari, to face Livius standing behind him.

"How dare you call her disgusting!"

"I didn't call just her disgusting. I said you two didn't I?"

"I don't care what insults you want to throw at me but you stay away from Amari!"

"Stay away? I don't even intend on being near the likes of her."

"Is that so? Then why keep her here? Seems to me you're just contradicting yourself!"

"Why I keep her here is none of your concern."

Kei shot Livius a dirty look as the latter narrowed his eyes.

"Wipe that silly grin of your face you wretched imbecile." Livius spoke calmly as he approached Kei.

"You sure you wanna take me on?" Kei asked in a dangerous tone as Amari pulled onto his hand, making him look down at her.

Amari shook her head aggressively in a bid to tell Kei not to fight with Livius anymore...

But Kei simply wouldn't listen.. And Livius doesn't show any signs of stopping either..

"I am the King. What makes you think you have the upper hand over me and my guards?" Livius questioned triumphantly, now standing a few meters away from Kei and Amari.

"I can take you and the whole Sun Kingdom on if that's what I have to do to get Amari away from your filthy hands!"

"Big words eh? Who the fuck do you think you are to challenge me as such?"

"I am her fucking guardian angel that's who!"

Livius's eyes widened in surprise at Kei's words before narrowing suspiciously.

"So... I take it you're not human..."

Kei didn't answer him. By now Amari eyes were as wide as saucers and she slowly let go of Kei, stepping away.

Kei didn't realise her actions and continued staring down at Livius.

"You don't deserve her." Kei repeated his words clearly.

"I heard you the first time at the capital."

"It's my pleasure to say it over and over again until you get it through your head."

"Well sad to say... It's not I don't deserve her. It's she who doesn't deserve me! Have you seen my wife, Nike? No woman can rival her beauty and personality!"

"She don't deserve you? Then fucking release her back to me!"

"Back to you? Pfft. Don't make me laugh. She doesn't belong to you."

"Well she doesn't belong to you either!"

Something about Kei's words made Livius tremble with rage but he didn't say anything for a while..

Kei then gritted his jaw before looking at Amari and marching over to her.

"I'll show you who she's meant to be with!" Kei bellowed before grabbing Amari's shoulders and slamming his lips against hers...

Livius's P.O.V.:

I was livid to say the least..

This Kei punk thinks he can just go around kissing my soulmate?

This is my soulmate god damn it!

I strode forward and yanked Amari away from that bastard.

"Get behind me." I said calmly but Amari's eyes tried to protest my words as she moved forward towards Kei.

I tightened my grip on her arm, causing her to bite her lip in pain and Kei's voice made me look at him.

"Let her go damn it! You're hurting her!"

"If I'm hurting her she can open her mouth and tell me!" I started raising my voice, feeling the anger rising within me.

She's my soulmate right? Sure I didn't tell her that but I'm sure she's got to feel something when she saw me for the first time right?! Most of the time it has pissed me off that she hasn't spoken a single word to me!!

And why didn't she say anything when this asshole Kei kissed her?!

Did she like it or what?!?

"She can't say anything because she's mute you bastard! So let go of her and stop hurting her!" Kei roared as he punched my jaw, making me accidentally bite my lip, drawing blood..

"Kei!" Hiru's voice shouted as he rushed towards us, arm locking and dragging Kei away from me and Amari..

"Let me go old man!" Kei yelled as Hiru's eyes darkened with anger.

"I told you not to intefere with the works of God!" Hiru chided as Kei's eyes narrowed at me.

"I won't ever allow him to have Amari! Even if it means my angel's rank and status stripped away from me! I love Amari and no one! Not even King Livius bastard here can make her belong to him!"
