The World Is Still Beautiful (King Livius)

Chapter Eight

"Why are they even after the three of you?!?" Neil questioned suspiciously.

"I'm not too sure though.." Hiru, who is now covered in gold armour and holding a golden sword with two huge white wings attached behind him, spoke. He doesn't look like the frail old man he previously was..

"Demons will always come to interfere and destroy God's work. They have always aimed to bring God down right from the start.. However I don't think our job with Amari is so serious to attract this amount of demons to attack us..." Kei commented as Livius smirked at him.

"So since you keep interfering in God's work, does that make you a demon too?"

"If I kill you, I assure you that Heaven will not be your destination." Kei, who has the same armour, sword and wings as Hiru, threatened Livius..

"Wait, why are you assigned to be with Amari?" Nike suddenly blurted out her question.. "Is Amari an angel too???"

"She's not." Kei answered curtly.

"Then why is she so special to be under the two of your protection?" Neil asked suspiciously.

"Because she is meant to be King Livius's soulmate. We were assigned by God to let them meet when she reaches 18 years of age." Hiru informed everyone.

Nike turned to her husband with a look of betrayal...

"So... she is the soulmate that the orcales told you about..." Nike whispered. "And you didn't bother telling me when you met her??? Is that why you keep using a lame excuse to keep her here???"

Livius's face scrunched up in annoyance..

"Stop it Nike! Royal guards, you will aid Hiru in fighting our enemies.."

"Livius! Don't you dare ignore me!"

Livius's eyes hardened at his wife.

"I didn't tell you because I didn't want you to worry and be paranoid about it! And I kept her here so that I can always keep an eye on her so she won't be able to pull any tricks of seducing me whatsoever!"

"Well-well... What an interesting excuse..." a growl sounded from above and the blue sky immediately turned dark as around fifty demons rained down around the garden.

"Give us the girl." the leader of the demon, wearing a red armour and with huge horns attached on top of his demonic face, spoke in a deep voice.

"Why would you want her? To foil God's plans?!" Hiru challenged as he stood before Amari protectively with Kei.

"Hmm.... That would be the first reason but..." the leader sniffed the air and his eyes landed on Amari.

His lips then pull into a grin, showing rows of sharp fangs..

"The second reason is when a God's gift has been defiled, all the more we demons want it..."

Kei's P.O.V.:

This can't be happening...

What in God's name did that demon just said?!?

That Amari has been defiled?!?

My instincts immediately whipped my gaze to the culprit..

"How dare you..." I whispered as I flapped my wings once and appeared in a flash before him, pressing my sword into his neck... hard...

"It was you." I growled as the leader of the demon laughed loudly.

"An angel who dares to kill a human! I like it! We will bring you back to King Lucifer that's for sure! Our majesty did send his regards as he's busy holding off God himself from sending you reinforcements.."

"Over my dead body! You are not taking my partner!" Hiru yelled as he and the other royal guards charged at the demon leader and his underlings, slashing down the minions...

I didn't want to look at Hiru anymore... I felt he betrayed me in a way... If he knows this much about Amari's fate.. He would have known she would lose her virginity to Livius...

"What?" Livius croaked and when his Adam's apple moved, his neck got a cut from my sword, resulting in blood trickling down his throat...

"I want to hear it from you..."

"Hmph." Livius smirked at me as he sighed in a bored voice. "Fine. She belongs to me."

My eyes widened as I raised my sword to plunge into him but... a small figure flashed past the side of me to stop before him...

No...

My eyes widened in horror when I realised I just plunged my sword into Amari...
