Quick A/N: So it's been a while since I last updated. Long story short, my wifi broke and it took a while to fix so I didn't have wifi to write for almost 2 weeks. Then band camp started, so that was another 2 weeks of my life taken up. On the bright side of band camp, I'm a squad leader this year! Then right after band camp school started, so I'm really sorry I haven't updated. This is the first free day I've had in a while, so I'll update again as soon as I can. I hope you enjoy this chapter. I'll try to make it good :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~After eating some pizza, Ryan and I went back up to my room to start our homework.
"Who the hell gives homework on the 3rd day of school?" Ryan mutters as he finishes solving an equation for Calculus.
"This is the toughest teacher in the whole school," I reply, "What did you expect?"
We soon finish up our homework, and by that time it is only 7:30, so we play some video games to pass the time. I sit on the floor and Ryan is sprawled out on my bed. I soon get bored and let him kill my character until he questions why I'm not fighting back.
"I'm bored. Let's do something else," I say.
Ryan lays his controller on the bed, and raises an eyebrow, "Like what?"
I shrug and climb into my bed next to him. We sit in silence for a few minutes before Ryan breaks it.
"So are you ready for the game on Friday?" He asks.
I start to nervously move my hands because no. I'm not, but the first game is with our rival school, so I have to be ready. I'm the quarterback.
"Honestly... no. These new things coach is doing are hard as fuck. I don't understand how he expects us to learn them in 2 days," I say.
He lays his hand on my knee and smiles at me, "You're a great football player. I'm sure you'll be fine."
I smile slightly at him, and a knock at my door makes him jerk his hand away from me.
"Come in," I say. Rosie walks in with a letter in her hand.
"There's a letter here for you. It's from Juilliard." She says.
I jump up off the bed and yank it out of her hands. I tear it open and read over it.
"Dear James,
Thank you for your patience in waiting for your acceptance to Juilliard. We are pleased to inform you that you have been selected as a finalist for the 2018 admissions cycle. We will need you to audition on January 22nd, 2018 in New York City, New York. If there is a scheduling conflict please email and let us know. Congratulations on being selected as a finalist!"I looked at Ryan who has the biggest smile plastered to his face, and I run over to my bed and tackle him.
"I'M A FINALIST!" I yelled.
He laughed and wrapped his arms around my waist embracing me in a hug. We almost forgot my sister was in the room.
"When did you apply to Juilliard? What about Harvard?" Rosie asks.
I turn to her, "Please don't tell dad," I say, "I applied thinking they wouldn't accept me. Now I have an audition set up. Please don't tell him."
"Tell who what?" I hear someone say. I look past Rosie and see my dad come into view.
"Dad!" I say, "Um... I was telling her not to tell my coach that I'm scared that we will lose on Friday."
"I'm sure you'll do fine, kiddo. Hi Ryan," My dad says.
