CARTERS POV

I havn't felt this calm in months. I don't think I could ever feel this safe again, but with Constantine's strong arms wrapped around me I felt safer than I have in years.

Subconsciously I move closer, nuzzling my face into his chest. His familiar scent washed over me and his arms tighten around me in response to me moving.

"Carter.." he groans.

"What?" I whisper. I don't want to have to think about why this was wrong. Why I should be running in the opposite direction. That I am only going to get us hurt.

"Please tell me what's wrong, you can trust me Sunshine, I promise."

My lips lift into a small smile at the nickname. No matter how cliche it was, I couldn't help but admit that I love it when he calls me that.

"There's is nothing wrong" I sigh. Liar.

"Don't lie to me, tell me what's wrong. Who is that guy texting you?"

"If I didn't know any better I'd say you were jealous" I say trying to lighten the mood.

"I was. Extremely. Then I saw what he was saying and I was ready to kill him." He says bluntly.

Reaching up I palm his cheek, rubbing my thumb acrossed his lip.

"Besides the fact that you have no reason to be jealous, you don't have to worry about him. He isn't important."

"You're right. You are the one who is important, and it's important that you tell me why some asshole is saying those things to you!" He yells his voice cracking, still sore from crying.

"He's an Ex boyfriend of sorts"

Crap. Goddamn it you couldn't just help yourself. Good job smart one now he's never going to let it go now.

Looking up at him, I watch his jaw tighten and his eyes darken considerably. His hands are clenched in the back of my shirt and  pulling me tighter to him.

"Consta?"

"Where is he?"

"Back home.. why?" He better not be thinking what I think he is thinking.

"Because I'm going to kill him." His voice calm and unaffected, the complete opposite of a few moments ago.

"Ha um no..your not" additude laced through my tone.

"Ha um yeah I am" he says in a sarcastic voice.

"No"

"Yes"

"No" I growl

With a growing smile he whispers, "Yes" before pulling my body, which had started to pull away back to him, holding me tightly to his chest till I couldn't tell where I started and he ended.

"Carter baby please just tell me wha-"

Constantine is cut of by a blur of pink before Maddie is wrapped around his legs causing him to almost loose his balance.
