Prologue

Ako.

Tadhana.

Sino ang masusunod?

Ako o Tadhana? Tadhana o Ako?

Ako…

… o Tadhana?

Solitude. Within its core, I could feel warmth. Its familiar corners embraced my sense of belongingness in my world—in the place I called home. Would she join me in this vast space of mine? Her existence is but a dream. And I could sleep on forever… just to be with her.

Gaze. I set my eyes upon a faraway land—upon where she stood… upon where she was. I could see her, but I could never touch her. Until when do I have to glance at her from afar? Yet, I keep her within the chambers of my heart… and I feel close to her.

Speed. Faster than a blink of eye, I disappeared from sight. Yet once upon a time, my speed met its match. Until when would she run away? Would I ever catch her heart? Someday, maybe… my speed would finally catch up with hers.

Pledge. So close yet so far—cliché, it seemed. I pledged to stay, I would always do. By her side, she would find me. Patiently waiting… until she would finally see me.

Mask. Who am I? Do you know me? You might have known my story, but you would never really know me. You would never do. Until the day I would know myself, I would remain but just figment of your imagination.
