*I look awful in the picture sorry 😂"
I HAD THE CRAZIEST DAY YOU GUYS! So, one thing you may not know about me is that I go to a music school for the double bass and my dream is to perform on Broadway. I live in NYC so I had a couple connections. First, I sat in the pit for A Bronx Tale and got the bass player's number, so we kept in touch for a few months and now I am going to sub in on that show since I'm old enough now. Since then, I've been seeing as many shows as possible. Within the past 6 months I've seen School of Rock, Phantom of the Opera, Wicked, Kinky Boots, A Bronx Tale, and The Great Comet. When I saw this musical, I was able to talk to the bass player afterwards and got his email too! So I kept in though with him and he's trying to get me into the theater to go backstage before the show closes. His name is John and he's super nice, he's also been helping me out with picking out audition pieces for when I start applying for colleges. Anyway, back to today Today I just saw Bandstand. The show was amazing and it incorporated a lot of jazz music and classic 20s and 30s music, which is what I mainly play on my upright bass (Same as the double bass). The main actors in the show play an instrument, sing, and acted and are so talented. Being a bass player myself and all, I was watching the actor who played the bass every time he was on the stage. We made eye contact several times and he smiled at me and waved, so I knew I had to meet him. I stayed after the show to get my playbill signed by everyone, and he came out. We talked for a little bit and he gave me his PRIVATE INSTAGRAM only for me so I can keep in touch with him. He asked me if I sang and acted and I told him I can sing but I've never gotten feedback on my acting skills. He said he wanted to talk to me about that! So I followed him and he followed me back! I messaged him but he's in the middle of a show tonight, so I'm waiting for him to have a chance to look at my message. Anyway, after that, I went to the Great Comet which is right around the corner and waited in the line to get stuff signed by the actors because their show just ended. I was waiting for Lucas Steele, the guy who plays ANATOLE, which is my favorite character. I drew the actor a pic of himself:
So I posted this on my Instagram last night. He didn't like it, but I was still going to give it to him. He was right in front of me talking to someone, and I handed him the pic. He stopped talking to the lady to talk to me about the picture. HE SAID THAT HE SAW IT ON INSTAGRAM AND THAT HE THOUGH IT WAS ONE IF THE BEST PIECES OF FAN ART THAT HES GOTTEN! I took a pic with him and he said that he was going to like the pic, and he did! The funny part was that he was on vocal rest, so between that and me being so fricking excited, I was barely able to hear the poor guy. He probably thought I was nuts. But he was really nice to me! Also when he was lookingat the drawing, a bunch of other people were looking at it too and they were asking me to draw them stuff! Idk who they were either! I was freaking out! But yeah, that's what happened today and I didnt know who to tell, so I'm posting it here first! If you have any questions about Broadway stuff, I'm sure I can answer them for you! Thank you for listening to my rant!
