Kyla POV
"KYLAAAAA" yelled a voice that I've known for most of my 16years of life.
"Hey Lace.." I replied smoothly since I already knew what she was going to ask me.
"Where were you?? I didn't see you at biology." just the question I hoped she won't ask.
"It's nothing really.."
"Girl.. If you want to lie you gotta do better than that." replied Lacey with a skeptic look on her face.
"Alright fine" I gave up while dragging her to an abandoned classroom since I knew there was a 95% chance I was going to cry. "It's my dad Lace.."
"What did he do now??" she exclaimed looking mad.
"He left again Lace.. He said it was all my fault. He forced me to join him on his bussiness trip tomorrow but I can't Lace.. I have Juilliard auditions tomorrow and considering the fact that my brother was beaten up by that monster the last time he traveled with that man I was forced to call 'father'.. I'm not sure if the same fate won't happen to me too if I went with him. So I said no. Of course nicely though I told him that I had a full schedule today.. Then he took a nearby plate and almost smashed it in my face. He called me worthless and he said that I was an ungrateful daughter." I was crying by the time I finished my rant. It's true though.. Everyone sees my father as a public figure who wouldn't hurt a fly. But that's not true.. There are two sides of him.. One side is for the media who sees him as a saint. The other side though is what me, my twin Kaden, my 5yo sister Kasey and my mother always receives, his devil-ish, abusive side.. My brother got the worst though because my father wanted him to be the heir to our parent's bussiness but he wasn't interested.
" Oh God Kyles. I'm so sorry.. I didn't knew" hugged Lacey.
"It's fine" I fake smiled while I used my cheer jacket sleeve to wipe my eyes.
"Alright let's go we have french and you know how grumpy Mr.Jean gets on Tuesdays" Lacey rolled her eyes. See that's what I love about her.. She completely understands how I feel since her mom left her when she was a baby eventhough our problems weren't the same she could still relate to how I feel.

"Hey baby sister." greeted Kaden while he put his hand on my shoulder.
"Hey KadyBoo" I smirked when I saw him scrunch up his face, he hates that nickname.
" How come I didn't see you during bio?"
"Urghh. You too" I grumbled while messing up his wavy auburn hair which was very similar to mine.. That's not the only thing we have in common we also share the same blue-greenish eye color. But the one thing that made us different was definitely our height, while I stood proudly at 5'6", he stood even prouder at 6'1".
"Don't tell me
"Don't tell me you're my heartbreakerrrrrr" I sang with Lacey and we ended it with a laugh, it's just our thing when a conversation gets too serious we always like to make the situation lighter.
"Kyla! Seriously please tell me you weren't crying at the rooftop again."
"Well I wanted to but I couldn't seeing as you took my ONLY key to the rooftop last week."
"HAHAHAHA EAT THAT! Well, where were you then?"
"I found another spot" I smirked at him. "And you know the funniest thing happened there was someone else inside the janitor's closet. It was definitely a guy I didn't know who though. He questioned me why I was crying and I told him to leave the closet and luckily he did."
"You were crying in a JANITOR'S CLOSET WITH A BOY?!" bellowed Kaden. Even Lacey had a surprised look on her face.. You see I've been hurt before... Bad. I never trusted boys again.. Ever. So that's why they were so surprised.. And I was captain of the Christianity club in our school so I would never be in a closet with a boy not like some of the slutbags here in our school.. Luckily we were on our way back home in Kaden's car or else if anyone heard that sentence, they would have had other thoughts since he only managed to yelled out the part where be said I was in a closet with a boy.
" Hey! I sent him out okay."
"Fine whatever but next time if you paln to go MIA, text either me or Lace first k?"
"It doesn't even make sense Kade. If she wants to go MIA why would she tell anyone? Duh. You can be sooooo stupid sometimes." laughed Lacey while she flipped her straight dirty blonde hair in a sassy attitude but her deep brown eyes gave the movement a joking ring to it. I guess that's why my brother was secretly head over heels for her.
"Lace. HAHAHAHAHA you are soooo funny! HA! You're so funny I forgot to laugh." replied Kaden with a full sense of sarcasm in his sentence.
And that's how the rest of the ride home sounded like, Kaden and Lacey flirting with each other even though they won't admit it.
