The Perfect Little Girl

Chapter 4

Kyla POV

There are just some nights when I couldn't sleep listening to the bickering of my parents loud at night and unfortunately for me tonight was one of those nights.

As I heard a small knock on my door, I said: "Come in"

"Kyla? I can't sleep.. Mommy and daddy are keeping me awake again." my little sister, Kasey, said with trembling lips.. I could see that she was about to cry.

"Heyhey don't cry. Come here." I motioned for her to come over closer to me as I threw my covers and jumped off my comfy bed. "Don't cry okay? Shushh.. If you cry daddy will get mad okay? You don't want that do you? Let's go, I'll tuck you in and read you a bedtime story."

"Okay." she mumbled.

As we walked hand-in-hand back to her room, I could hear my brother yelling which made sense since my parents are fighting because they blame each other for not being able to go to Kaden's game last night. I couldn't help it as a tear fell from my eyes when I tucked my little sister in, I just couldn't handle it knowing that a 5yo has to go through all this when she was supposed to have a happy childhood and happy parents.

"Okay. So what story are we reading tonight?" I asked Kasey while looking through her piles of storybooks..

"Hmm.. Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs please Kyla." she answered with her toothy smile.

"Okay. Let's read it shall we?"I gave her a small smile. "Once upon a time...."

"Wow! You look like shit." her hand flew to her mouth the moment those words came out, typical Hazel. She never thinks before talking.

"Wow thanks a lot. That's exactly what a girl wants to hear early in the morning." I knew I looked like shit, I basically cried myself last night, so I'm pretty sure that I had puffy eyes and Rudolph's famous red nose. But sadly, I wasn't a reindeer so a red nose doesn't fit me.

"Well.. I'm sorry its just that..." she shrugged as she put her curly blonde hair up in a ponytail, her jade green eyes not as bright as usual. To think about it, it is actually quite hot in here, luckily my hair was up for cheer practice today.

"WHAT?! What did he do now?" when I said he I was talking about Seth, Hazel's almost boyfriend. She's basically just waiting for him to pop the question by now.

"He ignored me all weekend Kyls.. I don't know what to do anymore.. I just keep on thinking what if he has someone else? What if he found someone better?" I could see the tears forming in her eyes.

"Hey... Come here" I said as I hugged her. "Don't be so negatif okay? Just think positive k? And stop asking yourself those questions urgh. What ifs are two words that always hurt like shoot." Yea, I don't swear, my mom never approves if I swear, lowers down my grade as a woman. Her words not mine.

"Yea I know it's just hard you know.."

"Yea I know, just trust him more okay? I gotta go, but, promise me you'll talk to him?"

"Okay..."

"What are you all smiley about?" I rolled my eyes.

"Well, Kaden asked me to go to the movies with him tonight! How can I not be all smiley?" Lacey exclaimed still with that hilarious smile on her face.

"OMG! CONGRATSSSS!!" I screamed out loud turning some heads.

"Calm down geez. I didn't say yes yet."

"WHAT WHY?!" again turning even more heads around.

"I'm just not sure about the whole dating my bestfriend's brother kind of thing I guess.."

"YOU GUESS?! YOU GUESS?! Naah gurl you gotta hit that nae nae! Okay so basically my point is.. Don't let anything stop you from conquering Love." I said oh so wisely.

"When did you get so wise?" she laughed.

"Hey! What's that supposed to mean?" I shoved her as we head to biology.
