Chapter 4

His body hurt all over, so much that he did not want to open his eyes. He heard noises all around him, a beeping from a heart monitor machine, and people talking as they walked past his room.

“I can’t wait till the baby comes; he’s ganna be a green moon, just like hi…

“There so much paper work to fill out, I don’t…

“Can you find nurse Hado and tell…

Someone walked up to Maddy and sat in the chair next to his bed. He could smell Simon, but he still did not want his body to move. Simon laid his head next to him and just stayed there. He did not want his friend to suffer any more so he finally spoke.

“How bad is it?”

“Two cracked ribs, a broken leg, cuts on your face, oh yah a fucking hole in your hand. Simon growled, but he sounded more in pain than angry.

“It was a gang,” Maddy said, “I got in a fight with-”

I don’t wanna hear the lie Maddy.”

Maddy sighed, any time he ended up in a hospital there had to be a story, because if he told the truth, no one would believe him. “I can’t have you tell the truth Simon or He’ll come after you.”

“I don’t care.”

“I do.”

“AAAAAAAAAAAAAA” Simon yelled witch cause Maddy to finally open his eyes. There wear red rings and dark circles circling his eyes witch made the yellow brown irises stick out more than usual. “He could have killed you.”

“Who could have killed him?” a doctor and an enforcer came in the small room.

“I just did something stupid,” Maddy said quickly before Simon could do something stupid. “I was mouthing off to these guys and we got in a fight, I didn’t notice the knife till it was too late.”

Maddy could feel the glare off of Simon, but he ignored him. The enforcer also glared at Maddy so he looked away, he was not stupid enough to challenge of them.

“Can you describe these guys?”

Maddy hesitated on purpose, he could not answer to fast or they would get subspecies. “Not much, taller than me, and both had brown hair I think.”

Simon growled and waked out, the enforcer and doctor watched him. “Something wrong with your friend?”

“He’s just upset that I got hurt is all.”

“Well if you remember anything else call this number,” the enforcer placed a note card on the night stand then left. The Doctor then asked questions about how he felt, what hurt, and so on, then he too left.

Maddy was left alone in the room and he did not like it. He wished Simon was here, even if he was mad at him. He closed his eyes and started again to focuses on what was around, but was interrupted by heels clicking towards him. He opened his eyes to see Cadda Red Rock coming in the room.

“I heard about your incident, the enforcer said you got in a fight,” she said in a way that told him she did not believe the story. “That friend of yours made quite a ruckus.”

“What do you mean,” Maddy went to sit up and his body screamed but he did it anyways.

“Felisha Winters told the enforcer that Simon Omega went insane after you wear taken away. He started screaming that this was all his parents’ fault.” Maddy flinched but she continued on “He then attacked his mother and father, but they luckily got away with Miss Winter.” Cadda sat down on the chair next to him “Why would this be his parents fault?”

Maddy sighed, “before he told your cozen what He did, he told his parents, but they did nothing.”

Miss Red Rock nodded “yes he discovered the influence of power in a very bad way.”

“I'm afraid he will do something.”

“He loves you then.”

Maddy smiled “He’s the only real family I have.”

“Yes well, I will be going then,” she stood and walked out the door.

The blond walked out of Maddy’s room, and Simon growled lowly. He remembered seeing her yesterday with Maddy. As soon as she was gone Simon marched into the room.

“Who is she?”

“No one important,” Maddy lied.

Simon growled “Mathew who is she?”

“Cadda Red Rock,” he reluctantly answered, “Miss Red Rocks cozen.”

“What does she want?”

Maddy looked away, “I can’t.”

Simon growled again and Maddy flinched “Tell me now.”

Maddy finally brock down and told Simon everything. “You can’t do this alone,” Simon finally said

“Sim-”

“No, I am going to help you in any way I can.”
