Hey, guys! It's me, Jovi ❤

I'm super excited to be a part of the Wattpad Block Party once again! It's my 5th time joining this awesome gig and I'm thankful to Kelly Anne and everyone who has worked so hard to have its continued success. We're still kicking it!

This is a little project I'm working on. Just a short story that would come in three parts. I'll be sharing with you today the first part only. Part 2 & 3 will be available on my profile this coming September 2017. I've been listening to this old OPM (Original Pinoy Music) song lately. This was basically my childhood and an idea came up while I was listening to it. You guessed it, it needs a story! This is my own version of the story from the music video. Ang Huling El Bimbo translated to The Last El Bimbo in English is a song that was popularized by the band Eraserheads. This was released in 1995.

To my Filipino readers, I'm sure you have an idea what the song is all about. We all know what happens in the end so please don't hate! Lol.

Watch the original music video on my header. I hope it will move you as much as it moved me. I also included the English translation of the song below. Happy reading! We have the whole month to keep this party going! Enjoy yourselves. Cheers! xo

Kamukha mo si Paraluman (You look like Paraluman)
Nung tayo ay bata pa (When we were kids)
At ang galing galing mong sumayaw (And you can dance so well)
Mapa boogie man o cha cha (Be it Boogie or Cha cha)

Ngunit ang paborito (But my favorite)
Ay ang pagsayaw mo ng El Bimbo (Is the way you dance the El Bimbo)
Nakakaindak, nakakaaliw (Makes me dance, so entertaining)
Nakakatindig balahibo (Goosebumps-inducing)

Pagkaggaling sa eskwela ay dideretso na sa inyo (I would go straight to your house after coming back from school)
At buong maghapon ay tinuturuan mo ako (And you would be teaching me the whole afternoon)

Magkahawak ang ating kamay (Our hands are held together)
At walang kamalay-malay (Without us noticing)
Na tinuruan mo ang puso ko (That you have taught my heart)
Na umibig ng tunay (How to truly love)

The 90s was the new era for pop culture. It was also the rise of multiculturalism and alternative media. It was uncommon for a child her age to be dancing to the tunes of classical ballroom music. Harley knew all the basic steps to Cha-cha and the Boogie-woogie. It was a form of dance her grandfather used to teach her when she was little. Her grandparents loved dancing. Every morning, before breakfast, they would pick up a record and start dancing to the playful tune around the house. When Harley was still a baby, her grandfather used to carry her and spin her around, letting her imitate the steps to the dance. As she grew up, Harley's interest to dancing made her take up ballet classes.
