So the wooden leg was the coolest, most life like thing Ezra had ever seen. Which was probably why he hadn't noticed it was fake when they went swimming, the best part was she bought in while in the market one day and no one had noticed. So, Ezra was making a game of trying to guess when she bought it. Sure he hadn't won yet but, that didn't mean he was going to.
"The Wednesday of the week that Crystal came on board the ship." Ezra guessed as they pasted another booth back to the ship. He had decided to ask her all these questions at a market place on Alderon. Which had been so much fun for Morgana.
"Not even close." Morgana sighed. She was really getting board of these questions. The was the seventh time he had asked her a question like this in the past two minutes. Ezra looked a little disappointed as he pulled the box in his hands, closer to his chest.
"Okay then, how about....the day before we went swimming." Ezra smiled.
"You asked about that date twice now. And like I said a while ago, not even close to then." Morgana sighed.
This continued for another twenty minutes. Ezra guessed and Morgana would always tell him that he was wrong. So she was having so much fun. Yet, that all stopped when she saw her.
It was a women in her thirties. She had long red hair, freckles all over her body and large familiar green eyes. Her children were walking next to her buying a few things. They all had the same hair colour and freckles as her. They all had the same smile as her. They all looked as friendly as her. They all looked like Elaine. That was Elaine's family.
She had stopped in her tracks to look. Ezra hadn't noticed. He just kept talking. He didn't see how lost she looked. How much guilt was in her eyes. How heart broken she looked to see her face again. How her hand was now in her pockets squeezing a golden heart necklace tightly. She could feel the E written on the necklace carved into the heart.
Her eyes began to water a little bit. Elaine didn't deserve that. She deserve to die. She didn't deserve that or the hell they saw. She didn't deserved to be picked on about being Bi at all. She didn't deserve anything she had ever gotten in life. What she served was to be here alive with her family. Elaine deserved everything good in the world.
The young girl never should have kissed her that night. If she did then they would have never gone out. She would never have followed her into the cave. Then she would never have been killed. Elaine would still be alive and happy with her family.
Same thing went with Sally. If she never had befriended her she would have killed Ezra when she first saw him. She would have been honoured and maybe even set free. Instead she gave up upon seeing Morgana. That was how she died. She died because of Morgana.
Maybe a lot of things would be better without her. Maybe she should just do the galaxy a favour and-
No! She had Crystal to think about! She had to remember that Crystal wouldn't be the same as she was no if she died. She had already admitted what happened to her mother. Morgana couldn't put her through that pain again. So, she maybe she could try to heal her mother a bit.
With sigh Morgana walked over to the women. In her shaking hands was Elaine's necklace. She stood inches away from her mother before opening the locket to make sure of something.
Sure enough in the necklace was a photo of Elaine with her mother, younger brother, younger sister, her older sister, her pet loath cat and her dad. They almost all looked identical in the picture. In fact they all kinda looked the same right now. Well, one of the girls had pink hair tips. As for the boy, he appeared taller.
With a gulp Morgana poked the women on the shoulder. The women turned around quickly as her children ran over to their father. She had a look of concern in her eyes for a minute.
"E-excuse me, are you Elaine's mom?" Morgana asked. The women paused on hearing her daughter's name.
She hadn't seen her for years. Not since the day she went to work and left Elaine in charge of the house since no one else was there. When she came back the house was completely destroyed and Elaine was gone. There was also a note. It just read "your child is ours now."
She didn't know this girl so that meant one thing. That meant she was someone who had meet Elaine after that event. Which mention Elaine could still be alive.
"Yes. Is she with you? How is she? Is everything okay? Where is she?" All these questions fell out of her mouth quickly. With a gulp Morgana's opened her hands revealing Elaine's necklace. She then put it in her mother's hands.
"She wanted to come home. So, I brought her home." Morgana sighed. She looked directly in her eyes. The women didn't understand her at first. She began looking around for her daughter before she caught on. Her daughter was dead and the necklace she had worn since she was eight, was all that was left of her.
Elaine's mother's large green eyes began to water as she opened to locket. It was the smash picture that had always been in there. She had preyed to see her daughter one last time. It had been two years and she hadn't given up in all that time. Maybe she should have. She would have given anything to lay on her eyes on her daughter again. In a way she was getting that one last time.
Then she pulled Morgana into a tight hug. Tears were now falling onto Morgana's left shoulder. Morgana just stood there, completely still in the women's arms.
"Why are you hugging me?" Morgana whispered quietly.
"Cause I know, I mean knew my daughter. I knew everything about her. Even what was her type of girl. Including who she would give her necklace to if she died. So, I am trying to give you comfort. As your old girlfriend's mom." She whispered back. Morgana hugged her back almost instantly after hearing this.
"Thank you for returning my baby girl to me." The women smiled. Hearing her exes mom say this and supporting her, kinda Morgana wished she had a mom. Then it occurred to her. She did have a mom. Well, a mom of sorts.
~time skip~
"There you are! I was worried sick about you! Where have you been? Ezra couldn't find you anywhere. He's probably still looking for you! H-" Hera didn't even finish her sentence before she was pulled into a hug by Morgana. Morgana hugged her tightly. It took Hera a couple moment to process what was going on before hugging her back.
"I'll be more careful. I promise." Morgana explained. Hera hugged her back tighter.
"Okay. Just know I'm gonna be watching you a lot more now." Hera smiled.
"In that case can you teach me how to rewrite an entire ship?" Morgana asked.
"Let me guess, your are asking about how to fix the canons aren't you?"
"....maybe. Okay, yes."
"We'll start to tomorrow. After you tell me what happened at the market."
Morgana must admit she did like Hera. After all, that was basically her space/crew mom.
