Fate (L.H.)

I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock playing "If You Can't Hang" by Sleeping Sirens and I looked over seeing it was 6:30 am. And my mom yelling "Jacquelyn wake up!"

I lazily sat up and turned off my alarm because it was really loud, I always say I'm going to turn it down but never do because I forget. Oh well. I finally got up out of bed and go to the bathroom, after that I walk slowly back into my room walking I to my closet pulling out my A.E. Light blue jeans, light brown cardigan, and flowy shirt with flowers all over it. I wanted to wear something cute because today is the last day of school before summer break, so I though that I might as well. Then going to my drawers and pulling out some random underwear and no-show socks. Finally more awake I walk back into the my bathroom and change my clothes and then looking in the mirror to see that I looked extremely scary, my hair was a mess and my face was just no. I brushed out my long and semi straight brown hair that was ombréd to blond at the bottom and began straightening it. After I finished I applied some cover up to certain spots and then put on some mascara, then eyeliner which made my light green eyes that had a dark ring around the outside with little yellow and brown spots on the inside stand out a little bit. You see, I want big into makeup so I didn't use a lot. I unplugged my iPhone 5S from my dresser in my room and ran down the stairs to the kitchen where I grabbed an apple and a glass of water. I quickly finished and went back up to brush my teeth, going back down and putting on my black Vans folding up my jeans, grabbing my backpack, purse, and lunch-box and heading out to school for the last time this year. I was really excited because I was a junior and next year would be my last before I head off to college. The drive to my school was only about 5-7 minutes so I arrived in no time, walking into school, I quickly found my best friend Jerika with her boyfriend Calum. "Hi guys" I say to them still kind of asleep.

"Hi Jacquelyn, how are you?" Jerika says to me happily, with Calum waving to me, I guess she wasn't very tired today like I am.

"I'm good, kinda tired, the usual." I say to her trying to wake up more.

"Are you happy today's the last day? Well get to hang out all summer after today." Calum says to Jerika and I in his Australian accent. Calum moved here in 8th grade, he had lived in Sydney but his parents had to mover here and he was sad for a while because he had good friends but he became good friends with Jerika and I and they soon became a couple. I really want a relationship like theirs one day, they're so cute.

"Yeah and I'm happy we only have one more year left in this hell hole after break!" I say and Jerika shied her head agreeing with me. I look to my left and see a tall figure with a blond quiff and a lip ring walking up, Luke. I've had a huge crush on Luke since he moved here in 7th grade, also from Australia. Luke made me smile and feel beautiful, which is hard to do because I have a very low self-esteem. I'm 5'8 and I guess I'm not fat, I'm chubby, but I see myself as fat even though Jerika says I'm not. I have a few other problems which we'll get into later. But Luke made life seem worth it. And I really like Luke, but I'll never tell him that though because he would never like me and all he see's me is as a good friend sadly.

"Hey guys, what's up?" Luke said to all of us in his adorable accent. Ugh it's so fucking perfect.

"We're just talking about how excited we are for summer break and next year being out last year." Calum answered. Just as he said that we all hear Michael and Ashton, our other friends goofing about and walking over to us.

"Hi guys." We all say to them and sending small waves.

"HIII!" Ashton says excitedly, you see he was a senior and this was his last year, Michael was a junior like the rest of us. They were both from Australia too, I guess Australians really like to move to California. All of the guys, Calum, Luke, Michael, and Ashton, are in a band called 5 Seconds of Summer. They mainly play for me and Jerika, but they record covers and have written a few songs, all of which they upload to their YouTube channel. They have a fan base, it's not too big, but not too small. And all of the fans are really sweet and just overall nice people. The bell finally rings, meaning we are released to 1st period. We all start waking through the hallway with a giant crowd of people all trying to get to their lockers or wherever they're off to. All of our lockers were close to each other, except Ashton's because he's a senior and it's in a different hallway. Grabbing all of my shit and putting it into my backpack I head off to first period, English. Ugh, I hate it so much, the teacher isn't very good, but she's nice. Luckily I have Luke and Calum in that class so it's not as bad. I looked over at Luke and he smiled at me and I smiled back hoping I want blushing. Hopefully today goes by fast!
