Raziel

I didn't know that human cities are beautiful up until now.

What more devastating is that, my own mother wanted me to become a prisoner.

No way.

Yeah. Indeed no way. I won't let anybody control my life, even my own mother.

"You know, I understand why Ira is like that. I think, every parent should have the right to be overprotective." I was dragged back to reality hearing Nuriel's voice.

I scowl at him "She wanted to control me, like a tyrant that she is."

"Don't say like that to your own mother, Raziel." I was taken aback by his sudden change of mood.

I scoffs "No. She wanted to control me and that's that."

He shakes his head and walks beside me quietly.

Later that afternoon, we decided to go back to the castle. I am already calmed down so the first thing I have to do is to apologize to my mother.

But, I will stand on my ground not to let her confine me in Heaven out of pure paranoia.

As we landed in the east wing's balcony, I spotted mom waiting while her back is on us.

I races over quickly and hugged her from behind "I'm sorry to what I said earlier, mom."

I thought I was gonna hear a response but her body slowly turns into ashes.

I was frozen at the spot and I can't barely move a muscle.

I just remained there standing like a complete idiot staring at the ashes of my mother that began to scatter in the wind.

I take a step back and I hit a body, so I spin around to see if it was Nuriel but I was completely wrong.

Nuriel's wings were ripped off  from his back and he can barely talk, it is too late when I noticed the blood spilling out from his mouth.

No, please don't.

My eyes widened, but as I tried to run over to his side, a strong pair of arms stopped me from running towards my friend.

I squirm as I try to make my way out of my assailant "Let go!"

And then I saw everything, when Nuriel's murderer starts to slit his throat, a pair of snow white wings appeared beside me.

I am too shocked to comprehend everything when somebody grabbed me by my jaw and forcibly turn my head to face them.

I met a pair of golden eyes staring back into my silver ones, there is a cruel smirk playing in his lips.

"They will all be gone, Raziel." Then after he said that, the rain starts to rain in crimson colored raindrops.

No. It is not a normal rain.

The sky rains blood.

Ira

I woke up abruptly by Raziel's screaming voice. Even Nuriel who is napping beside his bed, woke up dazzily.

I shake him violently to wake him up and after a few minutes of slapping him slightly, he finally woke up.

"Raz, you are having a nightmare." I said, softly.

He sat up and embraces me, he is still shaking in fear.

I rub his back soothingly, to comfort him. The poor child.

I whispers "What happened?"

"Everybody died." I pauses when I heard what he said.

The Oculus has never been wrong.

'No one will save you.'

I pull away from the hug and  gave him an encouraging smile "It was only just a dream, Raz. Don't think about it, hm?" I stroked his hair softly.

He nods "I'm sorry to what I said earlier, mom. I didn't meant it. But I still don't want to be confined in Heaven."

I smiled genuinely "If that's what you want, son." He smiled back at me and embraces me again.

I glances at Nuriel and he is also smiling, but there's a distant look in his eyes.

I figured it out why so I called for him "Come join us, Nuriel."

He shake his head "I.. I shouldn't, I am just a visitor here. I am not family."

"But to me, you are family. Please? It will help to comfort Raz." Yeah, and just like that.

He joined the hug, it seems that there is a push button in Raz's name that made him comply to my request.

Later that night, when I left Nuriel with Raziel in his room.

I summoned my second group of Elite guards.

The Crimsons.

"What is it, your grace?" Elayne asked.

"Work with the Silvers. I need a tough round of guards this time." I said.

Zelrick, who is sitting on the velvet couch, stands up "Is there someone or something bothering you this time? You know how I hate to work with Claudius."

I gave him a stern look "I do not tolerate disrespect in front of me, Crimson General. Especially, when you are my cousin. There is no special treatment here."

He rolled his eyes and crosses his arms before facing me "Then, what is it that you need for us?"

I place down my goblet of wine and faces them.

"It is all about the Prince."

You may not be confined in Heaven, Raziel, but once you step your foot in this fallen world.

I will keep an eye on you.

The Oculus has never been wrong.
