Sitting on a bench, staring at your shoes without a care in the world. What a great feeling.
Welp, that's exactly opposite of what Sapphire's doing.
Sure, she's staring at the ground and sitting on a bench, but she's doing that for another reason. That reason being; to avert her eyes from ogling Ruby's.
Who's Ruby? Well, let's just say that Sapphire's had a thing for her for quite some time.
I mean, who wouldn't?Okay, yeah, there's nothing overly exciting about her, but hey, she's not an asswipe; so that's a pretty solid reason to have a crush on someone.
Ruby's not overly popular. Neither is Sapphire. They're just normal human beings.
Normal life. Normal school. Normal obnoxious teachers handing out a normal-leveled amount of homework. -cough-accessive-cough-Oh, were you expecting something more unrealistic-like?
Or even, something along the lines of a "lover's fantasy."Where the popular kid falls in love with the protagonist "just because."
News flash, it doesn't happen in real life, and I don't plan on making it happen in this story. No, this will be the normal life of Sapphire.
And, the normal life of Ruby.As you may know, the LGBTQ+ community is usually frowned upon in most states, sadly. There are no schools with a bunch of side-characters who are all after one girl and are coincidentally girls themselves at the same time.
Sadly, there is no high school where everyone who enrolls there is gay. (If you find one, hit me up)
So, if you're lesbian or, if you prefer, gay, do you tend to find yourself asking, "How can you tell if your crush, or someone in general, is gay as well?"
Well, let me see here. Some wear the stereotypical outfits. Low-cut shirts that make loops near the sides of your body so people can see your sports bra. But of course, that's also covered up by a flannel or something plaid.
Or, you can straight out have a shirt that says, 'I'm too gay to think straight." Or some other catchy slogan.
You could even have a bunch of rainbow accessories on you.I can't say the same for closeted. Sometimes it's just how they act. Sometimes you just have to wait until you're in college to find a partner if you're not in college or graduated from college already.
But when you really think about it, we're all just people. People with different personalities and different ways to express ourselves. There's no 'true' way to tell if someone's gay or not. Sometimes you just have to straight up ask them if you can't tell after a while.
And that, my friends, is the one thing our dear lovebirds will have to face.
But my question is, will they get together, or were they never meant to be.
You probably have guessed "obviously, yes," by now.
But who knows?Have you ever stalked someone without even knowing it?
Well, you're not alone.
Sapphire, here, has been sitting on that bench every day at exactly eight-thirty. In other words, she goes to that bench and sits there, watching as her crush walk with her friends into school after talking with them for around fifteen minutes each day. You can imagine what could happen if Ruby were to incidentally notice that Sapphire does that like it's part of her regime in a prison, and that's what Sapphire planned for.
Sapphire always holds a book open in her lap, even if she's read it over five times in a row. Her hands placed firmly on the sides, readying her reflexes in case her crush's wandering eyes happen to land on her.Who could blame her, though?
It's a high school crush. We all have one, don't we?
Okay, maybe you don't (Surprisingly, I don't. I don't understand girls. They're so confusing and I need an outed lesbian/bi)
Even if you don't, you probably have a friend who has goo-goo eyes for every boy they see.
Or, you have an amazing gay best friend who makes absolutely hilarious sex jokes. (I need one. If you're a gay dude or lesbian dude who's just absolutely hilarious, hmu)Personally, I think that straight boys who make sex jokes are just perverts since they're talking about the opposite sex, but maybe that's just me.
Gay guys, on the other hand, have no perverted interest in girls so they just do it for fun and can't be mistaken whatsoever for thinking perverted thoughts about the opposite sex. Now, now, don't lie. I can tell that you've encountered at least one person in your life who's crazy for their crush that has never spoken to them ever and probably has a sucky personality.
Thankfully for Sapphire, Ruby's a pretty nice person. And that's why she likes Ruby, believe it or not.
No, nobody's new and was shown around.
No, they didn't bump into each other in the hallways.
No, they weren't bullied and the other person had to help them.
They just met like normal people.I think I've told you enough about them so far, so why don't you just check out the other chapters so we can get on with the story, shall we?
