My Demon

Chapter 4

They all teamed up to knock me to the ground and kick me. I kept screaming.

It was the worst pain I had ever felt.

Then I heard someone's voice.

"Lea!" A male voice screamed. "GET OFF OF HER!"

 I looked up. 

It was J.

My vision kept on fading in and out. I would feel terrible pain, and then the pain would stop.

I kept screaming, but I didn't see anyone. 

Where had J gone? I just saw him. Had he left me because he was scared?  Maybe he didn't like me like I liked him. Maybe it was all a ruse. Maybe he wanted me to just be gone. I started to cry even more now that I thought that. My vision was slowly getting less and less. It was only a matter of time before I- 

"HI YAH!" I heard a familiar voice yell. I forced myself to look up as much I could. What I saw made me laugh. Even though I was in pain.

J had somehow jumped up and ended up kicking the guy, who was kicking me in the side,  in the face. This gave me the energy to try and push away the guy who was punching me. I wasn't strong enough. J ran over, pushing him off and he kept on hitting the jerk. I hadn't noticed until now that one of them had cut me on my legs. I only noticed because my shirt was soaked in blood. More blood than I had ever seen in real life. I gagged. 

J ran over, taking off his sweatshirt and tying it around my leg. I flinched. 

"I'm so sorry. I should have taken you with me. I knew this was a bad place." He said. 

I mouthed the words "it's okay." I was too weak to talk right now. 

"Look. Don't talk it's okay. just listen. I'm taking you to May. Ya know how she's been trying to be a doctor? Well, she learned how to stitch people up. She should be able to help you." He said, obviously trying to be strong. 

He picked me up, placing me in the backseat of his truck. He had grabbed the part from the auto place and quickly replaced it. Now when I say quickly, I mean 20 minutes. He replaced it and climbed in the truck. He drove faster than ever to get me to May.

I don't exactly remember what happened when we got there. All I remember is May freaking out. Which is never good for a doctor to do, but it's fine. 

I remember her putting medicine on my cuts and numbing them. I ended up fainting.

When I woke up I heard voices in the room next to me. I sat up, flinching as I did so. Then I slowly walked over to the door, leaning against it.

"I really do think we should." I heard a females voice say. That must be May.

"Okay. I just hope you know what I'm saying." Who I assumed was J said.

"I just really love you. Honestly. And I want people to know." May said. Wait what. Love? It can't be.

"I love you too.. a lot." J said. Then I heard kissing sounds. I stood there shocked. I slowly sunk to the floor. I started to cry .. and well..

At that moment, I think I heard my heart break into a million pieces.

Why?
