I knew well that that demon wasn't gone. It would take a lot to get rid of it, and even though I didn't know much about this, I could tell.
I started walking home.
I was halfway there when I felt a cold breath down my spine. I walked faster. The cold, terrifying breath never left even though I ended up running.
I finally arrived, and as soon as I did, Oli ran up to me. He hugged my waist.
"Everyone missed you! We heard what happened!" The young boy shouted, worried.
Oli had a look on his face that showed he had been scared to lose me. He had already lost so much, and I was basicly his sister. I didn't want to lose him either.
I grabbed his hand and pulled him into my room. He sat on my bed, playing with a toy truck. Suddenly, he looked up.
"Can you sing me a song,Lea? He asked. I hadn't sung him a song in a while.
When Oli first got here, he had nightmares. A lot of them. I would go in his room, and I would sing him a lullaby. It always worked. Then I would tuck him in and kiss him on the head. He became attached to it, but one day,it just stopped.
So I sat down on the bed and began to hum a tune, then I sang:
"Hush, little baby, don't say a word,
Mama's gonna buy you a mockingbird. And if that mockingbird don't sing,
Mama's gonna buy you a diamond ring. And if that diamond ring turns brass,
Mama's gonna buy you a looking glass. And if that looking glass gets broke,
Mama's gonna buy you a billy goat. And if that billy goat don't pull,
Mama's gonna buy you a cart and bull. And if that cart and bull turn over,
Mama's gonna buy you a dog named Rover. And if that dog named Rover won't bark.
Mama's gonna buy you a horse and cart. And if that horse and cart fall down,
Well, you'll still be the sweetest little baby in town"The young boy leaned against my chest, his eyes slowly closing as he did. I tried my best to move him, but I didn't want to wake him up. I ended up falling asleep too, with this precious little boy in my arms.
So happy.
