And now that day was here. It was December 7, 2013. Pearl Harbor Day. A little over 17 years since they had first met when filming "Titanic." And the result of that long-building love and passion, a sweet baby boy, was about to make his entry into the world. Leo and Kate had waited nearly half their lives for this moment.

Kate clasped Leo's hand and bore down to push. Leo couldn't get over how tough and resilient Kate was, going through all this pain to bring their child into this world. He had never been more proud of her. Kate followed through with her push then Dr. Sharmesh smiled and said, "OK, you can stop Kate....hold on just a second..."

And with that, little Bear made his entrance. With a loud, lusty wail very much like his animal namesake would roar. Kate smiled and sighed with relief while Leo found himself catching his breath. "Here he is Kate....wonderful job," Dr. Sharmesh said, holding up a very pink and chubby baby, partially wrapped in a receiving blanket. "You go to your mummy."

"Oh my god sweetie..." Leo managed to choke out between sobs of joy as he rubbed Kate's shoulders. "He's beautiful...he's just perfect."

Kate was weeping with joy too. "Oh my god Leo I've waited all my life for this....I'm so happy..." she couldn't say anything else, she was sobbing with joy too hard to speak. The nurse smiled and looked lovingly as Kate as they laid little Bear on Kate's chest then tightly wrapped the blanket around him. Immediately he began to calm down a bit and his cries grew quieter. Kate gently guided him toward her left breast as he already began the rooting instinct to look for nourishment.

"Hello my sweet boy....welcome darling," Kate whispered as Bear now just made cute squeaky and cooing sounds. "Hey there buddy.....it's daddy.." Leo managed to choke out, greeting his son. He ever so gently stroked Bear's soft, fuzzy and dark brown hair. It was the same hair Leo had been born with 39 years earlier, even though it turned blonde as he got older.

Leo and Kate quietly wept with joy as they admired their son, the long-awaited result of their enduring love and passion for one another. Dr. Sharmesh asked Leo if he wanted to "do the honors" as she handed him a pair of medical scissors while one of the nurses gently rolled Bear over a bit to put the clamp on the umbilical cord. Leo gingerly took the scissors, cut the cord then allowed the nurse to gently roll him back over to Kate's breast.

"I love you so much.....this is so amazing," Leo said, leaning in to give Kate a passionate kiss. She smiled and reciprocated, "Oh Leo I love you too....thank you so much." "Wait, I should be thanking you," Leo smiled. "I am forever grateful to you for giving me a son."

"Well I really didn't have much say in that department," Kate chuckled, giving Leo a 7th grade biology class reminder. "No I don't mean that. I mean all this - the gaining weight, the pain, the discomfort. You were just amazing to go through all that." Leo said. Their blue eyes still glowed with tears as one of the nurses quickly got Bear dressed in diaper and a plain white onesie, then wrapped him tightly in a receiving blanket with cute penguins on it. Last but not least, she put a tight little cotton cap over his head to keep him warm but some of his dark locks still peeked out from under.

Bear momentarily moved his little head away from Kate's breast and just as they thought they'd stopped crying, Leo and Kate blinked back more tears as he opened his tiny eyes and made brief contact and of course they were blue. "Hi sweetie...." was all Kate could manage to say. Leo was too overjoyed to speak. He was never prouder than he was at this moment. Dr. Sharmesh again congratulated Leo and Kate, who thanked her profusely, along with the awesome nurses who were being so helpful. They gave them a good 15 to 20 minutes time to bond as a new family. Finally Leo gathered himself and asked Kate if she was ready for the grandparents to meet Bear.
