"Oh my gawd," Sarah's voice rang out through the palace halls, "I am aliiiiivvveeeeeeee!"
Lucky couldn't help but giggle. They'd concentrated the antidote enough to heal her fairly quickly. She'd already given her thanks to Lilly and Zee for knowing what to do and doing it right away. She sat up on the side of the bed and sniffed. She still felt like she had a cold, but that was about the worst of it.
"Yeah, you're alive," Lucky smiled.
"Whoa," Sarah said as she jumped out of bed, "I can see everyone!"
"Um, yeah," Lucky said.
"No," Sarah kept going with a rushed voice, "like, you don't get it. I can see everyone everywhere. Um, ask me...ask me where Zee is."
"Okay," Lucky smiled, "where's Zee?"
"He's in the basement," Sarah grinned. "Ask me where King is."
"Alright," Lucky said as she swung her feet off of the bed and stood up. "Where's King?"
"He's in the hallway!"
King stepped into the door way and knocked on the door's frame two times with a sly, little smile, "Can I come in?"
"Maybe," Lucky smiled back.
"Maybe?" he asked as he feigned hurt.
"Yeah, maybe," Lucky said again.
"Ew, gross, just kiss her already," Sarah said as she hopped towards the door. "I'm going to get the Wicked Lord."
Sarah laughed as she swung around the door frame and ran past King. She knew they were laughing with her as she left, and it made her feel lighter. In the corners of her eyes, she saw a thousand stars—like tiny white dots. Each one of them was a person in her new kingdom. All she had to do was focus on them, and she knew everything about them and where they were.
"Well," Lucky sighed as King walked over to her with a smile on his rugged face, "are you going to kiss me or not?"
King smiled, pulled her into his arms, and put his lips softly to hers. He brushed the blond hair off of her face with a delicate stroke of his thumb. Her green eyes were mesmerizing, really hypnotic, and as he stared down at them, he wasn't sure what he'd done in life to merit a girl like her.
"Why me?" he asked. "I never got to ask you that before you lost your memories. I'm just...a killer...you know?"
Lucky shook her head. He was a killer, but in some sort of messed up way, she thought they all were. All of them were dark and light no matter if they were human or from The Kingdom. It didn't matter. They were all just as gray as Gray was himself. The only thing that separated that gray void was love and what they chose to love. For Gray, it'd been revenge. For Lucky, it'd been King.
"Because," Lucky whispered. "I just do."
"That's not an answer," King laughed. "C'mon, can't you give me a legitimate answer? Something like, 'Oh, King, you're just so strong and oh-so charming'?"
"Please," Lucky laughed, "get over yourself. You're not charming in the slightest."
"I thought your parents taught you not to lie," King said. "My, my 'Lucky the liar'. Now, that's a title."
"Kiss my butt," she laughed back.
"Bend over," King smirked, "princess."
As Sarah ran, she heard Lucky giggling with King. It was nice to have everyone back the way they were supposed to be. Sarah smiled as she went, but there was something important she needed to talk to Zee about. She wasn't exactly sure how to ask. She wasn't sure why she went to Zee with it, either. She just...trusted him more, she guessed. It wasn't something she thought could wait any longer, either.
