Chapter 10

I wake up and Kelly, Grayson, Jordan, Bobby, and Janey are waiting for me to get up. “hey sleepy head”, Janey says in a nice tone. “ Where are we”, I ask confused. “were still on the train dummy”, Janey says.

I get up and we walk towards Janey’s friend’s house. His name is Austin and he is 19. We head towards the district 6 rich area. We arrive at Austin’s house and we knock on the door. He answers the door and lets us in. “ Hey, will you please help, my family has been kidnapped by the capitol and they will be killed if I don’t get there and save them”, I say in a panicked voice. “ Yeah I’ll help”, he says.

I introduce Austin to Kelly, Grayson, Bobby, Janey, and Jordan. He looks at Jordan and says, “ You’re Paylor’s daughter aren’t you?” “Yeah, sadly I am”, she says with a harsh look on her face. Just then, a peacekeeper comes in and says,” Turn on your TV now there is a message from the capitol.”

We turn on the TV and there is Coin, Snow, and Paylor. My face turns a bright evil red and I tell everybody to shut up. “ hello nation of Panem, this is a direct message to district 12’s Katniss Everdeen Mellark.” “Hey Katniss, watch this”, coin says. I see Peeta come into the picture and his shirt is off and his hands are tied. Coin takes off her belt and starts whipping Peeta over and over again. Peeta is dragged off and Taylor is dragged into the picture and she is whipped more times than Peeta was.  I start to flip out and I take the remote and throw it at the TV. I pick up the phone and I’m about to throw it out the window but everybody tackles me to the ground. I try to get out of their grasp but it’s no use. They carry me to Austin’s room and they put me on his bed. They hold me down until I calm down. When they’re sure I’m not going to explode again.

I get up and go back to the TV and Coin says,” Katniss, you have 8 more days.” The TV then cuts of and I stare at the TV and I run outside and think about my sister. Jordan comes out and sits next to me,” hey it’s going to be alright we are going to save your family.” I know, but I just don’t want what happened to my sister happen to my new family”, I say wiping the tears from my face.

After I stop crying, I head back into the house and Janey gives me some water. “ We need to get to the train so, we can get to district 5”, Grayson says. The seven of us walk toward the train. We get on the train and I immediately lay down and fall asleep because I can’t think straight. I wake back up and everybody is talking and they notice that I’m awake. “Hey Kat, you feeling better”, Grayson asks. “ Yeah I’m doing better”, I say. “Come join us”, He says.

I sit down beside Jordan and Janey. “ What are you guys talking about?” “ Were telling each other about our greatest adventures”, Janey says. “Well, I have a lot but all of you know mine so it’s kind of pointless to tell you”, I say.

They agree and we talk for a couple of hours and then I am the first one to fall asleep because I am extremely tired. I wake up and it looks like it’s about 8:30. I look over at everybody else and they are still sleeping.

The  train has stopped so I decide to go hunting in the district 5 woods. I grab my bow and arrow and I throw on my father’s hunting jacket. I kill a rabbit and a bird. I go back to the train and Kelly, Grayson, Jordan, Bobby, Austin, and Janey are standing there waiting on me. Janey slaps me and says,” Where in the hell have you been?” I was out hunting”, I yell back at her. We make up and then 8 peacekeepers surround us and they have weapons galore.
