Chapter 3

I wake up and look over at Peeta who is sound asleep so I carefully get out of the hammock without disturbing him. I look over at Taylor and she is also sound asleep so I just sit on the ground biting my fingernails.

Taylor finally wakes up and looks at me and says,” Hey Katniss how long have you been up?” I say,” Two hours or so.” She looks at me and says,” Come here for a second.” I go over there and she takes off my bandage off my head and stitches up my cut on the side of my head.

 I look at her and say,” Thanks, that feels a whole lot better.” I am startled by someone tackling me to the ground and my arm goes up to punch but it is caught by Peeta.  I’m like,” Oh my god sweetie I am so sorry.”

He says,” It’s alright I didn’t mean to scare you like that.” Taylor is just looking at us and has that cute smile on her face. I look at her and say,” What’s with the face?” She says,” I swear you two are the cutest couple that I have ever seen.” We look at her and say,” Thanks.” Then Peeta and I kiss and Taylor sighs in a good way.

I then say,” We should probably get going if we want to get to district 10 by tonight.” Taylor and Peeta agree and we start walking out of the forest. We get into district 11 and the streets are empty and peacekeepers are searching in people’s houses. The three of us then see why the streets are empty. There are wanted dead or alive signs for Peeta, Taylor, and me. The three of us stop in our tracks and run for our lives back into the forest back to our campsite.

Taylor looks at me and says,” That was a close call.” I say,” Yeah you got that right.” Peeta then says,” I know a secret way through the forest to get to district 10.” I’m like,” That’s awesome sweetie lead the way.” Peeta leads the way and is leading us deeper into the forest until he cuts up into the woods. We asked him where he was going and he just responded,” Just follow me I know where I’m going.

Taylor looks at me and goes,” Your husband is being very sassy today.” I look at her and say,” Yeah I know it’s my fault I accidently pushed him off the hammock last night.” Peeta heard us and looked back at me and gave his evil eye look. I thought to myself oh crap I’m going to get a talk later. After what seems like days of walking we finally reach District 10 and it is almost dark so we go into the woods to sleep for the night. I’m about to go sit down and let Taylor look at my head when Peeta grabs my jacket sleeve and pulls me to our tent.

I’m like, “Hey what was that for!” He says,” Why were Taylor and you talking about me earlier?” I tell him that she said that you were being sassy and I told her yeah it’s my fault. He looks at me with a regret look and says,” I’m sorry sweetie I love you.”

I go over to Taylor and she bandages my head and falls asleep. I go over to Peeta and me's tent and he is already asleep. I cuddle up next to him and kiss him and then I fall asleep. I wake up at 3 and Peeta is up and he looks at me and says,” Katniss go back to bed please I love you.” I fall asleep wondering why he was up so late
