Chapter 12

“IM WHAT! How in the hell am I supposed to save my family when I’m pregnant with my third child.” “Katniss, calm down everything will be alright”, Janey says. I am screaming my head off and then Jordan injects me with some sort of medicine.

My eyes start to daze and I realize that Jordan injected me with sleep medicine. I fall asleep and I dream about my 3rd child. I wake up and I am restrained down to the bed. Janey comes into the room and takes off the restraints.

“Why was I restrained?” “Because you were acting like a child earlier.” I realize that I’m on the train and were headed to district 4. I know where I’m going for help too. Phoenix O’dair, the son of Finnick and Annie. I then realize that tomorrow is Prim’s birthday.  

I start crying and then Janey comes into the room. “Hey, what’s wrong Katniss?” “My sister’s birthday is tomorrow and I miss her.” Janey sees me start crying and she wipes the tears as they fall down my face. When I stop crying I go downstairs and sit on the floor. I feel my breakfast is not sitting well and I go into the bathroom. I puke out my breakfast and Jordan holds my hair back.

We reach District 4 and I tell everybody to stay back a little. I walk up to Annie’s door and I ring the doorbell. Annie opens the door and the look on her face is priceless. “Hey Katniss, what are you doing here?” “Can I please come in and speak to your son”, I say. Annie calls Phoenix and he comes into the room. He has dark brown hair, blue eyes, and looks like he is 6 feet 3 inches tall. I tell him about what is going on. He agrees to tag along. “Hey Annie, can I tell you something?” “Yeah sure Katniss you can tell me anything.” “I am pregnant.” She hugs me and then puts her head on my stomach.

My cheeks turn a bright red. I remember when I was pregnant with Rue that I had never seen Peeta so excited. Every day, he would rub my stomach really softly and he would talk to her. I snap out of my daydream and we have to go.

Phoenix says goodbye to Annie and we head back to the train. When were walking, I remember that Haymitch was supposed to be watching Finnick.

When we get back onto the train I charge at Haymitch but he sidesteps me. I charge at him again but he catches me and forces me to the ground. I am yelling at him and he puts his hand over my mouth. “ You done screaming?” I nod my head yes. “ Why in the hell are you here, you should be watching my son!”

“ Greasy Sae is watching him now, calm down Katniss.” He lets me up and we join everyone at the dinner circle. We all sit down and eat a wonderful dinner prepared by Jordan. I them take two pictures out of my father’s hunting jacket.

It is a picture of me as a baby and a picture of prim as a baby. The other picture is prim treating my burn wounds when she was 9. I start bawling my eyes out. Nobody hears me and I’m sitting there crying for at least an hour. I put the pictures back in my pocket and I join everybody else. The phone then rings and I think its Coin or Snow.

I answer it and Finnick is on the other line. “ Hi mommy.” ‘Hey sweetie, how are you feeling?” “ Better I guess.” “ Oh, well I got to go by Finnick.” I hang up the phone and I fall asleep. I wake up  and everybody is sleeping around me. I check the time and it is about 11:30. I am about to fall asleep again but the phone rings. Surprisingly, it doesn’t wake everybody up. I pick up the phone and my mom is on the other line.

“ Hey mom, what do you want?” “ I wanted to see how you’re doing and how you’re feeling.” “ I’m fine”, I snap back at her. I then hang up the phone in anger. I lay back down and I fall back asleep. I wake up again and it is 2:30 in the morning. The train is still moving and it throws me against the wall. I hit the wall with a loud thump. It wakes Grayson and Jordan up. They rush over to me. “ Are you alright Kat”, Grayson asks. “ Yeah I’m fine.” They help me up and I lay back down thinking of Prim and how much I love her.

I wake up and Jordan is sitting beside me. “ Hey sleepy head, what’s up.” “ Coin left you a message on the phone this morning. I pick up the phone and listen to coin’s message.

 “ Hey Katniss, just telling you have 5 days left and that I remember today is your sister’s birthday.” Ha-ha. “ hey coin, I swear on Prim’s grave that I will kill you personally and I WILL!” I hang up the phone and I punch a hole through the wall. Jordan wakes Rae and Grayson up and they bandage my hand.

We get off the train and then I spot someone familiar standing in front of  Lexi’s house, who is a great friend of mine, and I tap on her shoulder. To my amazement it’s a bloody and half clothed Taylor.
