Ch12 Frightful waters

Flying over Dark water cove was always considered dangerous, so Flynn was piloting the ship on the surface of the water instead. Cynder had never felt so calm in her life, the sound of the sea was the most soothing thing she ever heard in her life. She looked over to see how her friends were doing, Spyro was sleeping on the deck, and the poor elves we're starting to feel seasick, they were used to flying and running, but for some reason the ocean really didn't do them justice.

As the ship landed by the dock farthest from the pirates' hideout, Cynder noticed that Flynn had put on an eye patch, and a pirate hat. *Oh my Eon, what the hell, Flynn*, Cynder thought, Flynn strode up to the group. "Aye, lads n lasses, this be as far as the Dread Yacht goes", he said in a mock pirate accent, the teens rolled their eyes and walked onto the pier. They looked out towards the fog covered shores, *how in the world are we going to get those spouts*, thought Cynder, *let alone handle Fright beard.* She looked around for a way to get in, but everything was concealed in fog.

"I think I can find a way in," said Flameslinger, "just stay close to me." He grabbed Stealth elf by the hand, Stealth elf took Cynder's claw, and Cynder held Spyro's claw as they ventured into the fog.

Despite it being in possible to see anything in the heavy mist, Flameslinger somehow knew where he was headed. Cynder could hear the laughter of drunk sailors as they passed by a saloon, and deeper into the fog. Soon, the fog cleared as they reached the other side of the island where alot of the pirates had docked their ships. The teens all split up and searched the port for Fright beard's ship. They pretty much all looked the same, until Cynder came across a ship with a nasty looking demon skull on the front and tattered Black sails and decorated with all kinds of skulls and rib cage bones. "These must be all of Fright beard's victims," said Stealth elf, who managed to catch up with her, "I'll go get the guys."

The team regrouped at Fright beard's ship and began to quietly search for the spouts. As they searched every nook and cranny of the ship, they could hear a large group of people approach the ship from the docks. They all began to hide as Captain Fright beard himself stepped on board, he had sharp teeth, a gold hook, and a sharp edged peg leg. Each cadet stayed hidden in hopes they wouldn't be caught. Cynder had turned into a shadow and hid inside another, bigger shadow cast by the ship's sails, Spyro hid within the mouth of the giant skull at the front of the ship, Flameslinger hid inside an empty barrel, and Stealth elf simply turned invisible. "Aye lads, a fine week of plundering had we!" The terrible captain spoke, "Skurvy!, Bring me favorite plundered loot!" He ordered. As ordered, a sad looking crab, who some what resembled a treasure chest, scuttled up to Fright beard holding the twin spouts in one of his claws and reluctantly gave it to his captain. As the captain snatched the spouts, he sat down in a throne like chair, using the poor chest crab as a foot rest.

The cadets weren't sure what to do, they all stayed hidden until all of the pirates slumped into slumber from all of the booze they had drank earlier. Seeing a perfect opportunity, Cynder slowly got out of her shadow form, and tried sneaking up to Fright beard. Suddenly the crab looked at her straight in the face with his stalk eyes, "please tell me your here to help me," he whispered, "I've been forced to be this monster's servent and I just want to leave." Cynder felt a stab of sympathy for the crab, she quietly got a nearby box, carefully lifted Fright beard's leg to let the crab crawl out, and slid the box in his place. "How can I repay you?" The grateful crab whispered, "The name's Lewt by the way." "Lewt, could you help us get those spouts back from fright beard?" Cynder asked, "the fate of our world depends on it..."
Fright beard instantly woke up when the spouts were mentioned, "What makes ye think I'll just let ye take my treasure!?!?" He roared, "and I don't appreciate mutaniy on me ship, ye crusty traitor!!!" The pirates had all heard their captain yelling and they all jumped up to attack them. The others jumped out of their hiding spots and the battle was on!

Everyone on the ship was fighting, a few men were thrown over board, and some were pretty scarred and burnt. All of the cadets fought as skillfully as usual, even Lewt began fighting, snapping at pirates with his big Golden claw. Soon all of Fright beard's men were defeated, and the scurvy sea dog was all alone. He tried to make a run for it, only for Lewt to snap his peg leg in half causing him to fall over on his face, dropping the spouts.

Cynder grabbed the spouts and they all ran back to the Dread Yacht. Flynn set the ship into high gear and all six of them headed back to the academy, where Hugo would be waiting.
