Chapter 22: Back In L.A.

Tamera

We're leaving again tomorrow for one last city and one last concert, then after that we get to go home. I miss my brothers so I'm glad we'll be back in California soon. I finished putting the last of my clothes in my bag until I heard someone knocking at my door. I looked through the peephole on the door. I was shocked but I opened it anyway.

"Hey T," Cube mumbled.

"What's up?" I asked.

We still haven't been tight since our little night and me kicking him out the room the next morning. Both of us still remained professional when it came to performances.

"Can I come in? I wanna talk to you."

"About what?"

"Happened between us."

"Aight." He walked in then sat down on the bed. I sat on the sofa in front of him. There was an awkward silence between us, it was kind of pissing me off. "Speak," I demanded.

"Aight, chill."

"How am I supposed to be chill when we... did the deed?"

"I'm a little freaked out about it too Tamera. Every time I look at you I just think about that night and being inside you."

"Are you trying to tell me you want to do it again?"

"No. Your my best friend."

I sighed. "I'm not mad about it, okay? I just thought I'd never hear you say the words 'ride me faster Tamera.'"

"I know."

"O'Shea this shouldn't change anything between us. We can still be friends. We've been friends since we were in diapers."

"Yeah. You remember that one time you accidentally dropped that brick on my foot outside my mom's house?"

"No. I did it on purpose."

"What?"

"You kept crying because I stepped on your foot and it wasn't even that hard."

"You're mean."

"I know."

"So we good?"

"We've always been good. Honestly, if I was gonna lose my virginity to anyone, I'm happy it was you."

"Wow, thanks Tamera." We smiled. "Aight, I should go I got to meet this girl I met."

"Whats her name?"

"Kimberly."

"That's pretty, have fun."

"You know I will."

I walked him out the room but he stopped in the doorway.

"You give some bomb ass head by the way," he said.

"Boy! Get on somewhere," I slightly pushed him.

I stepped off the bus breathing in the LA air. We're back in LA after 7 months of touring around the country.

"Damn were finally back home," I sighed.

"Feels good huh?" Cube asked.

"Hell yeah." I looked across the parking lot and saw my brothers waiting for me. I smiled at the sight of seeing them.

"Thanks man," I said to the driver.

"So you really leaving?" I heard Dre say. I turned around with my bags in my hand to see Dre talking to Cube.

"Yeah I'm leaving. I rather be broke than to be fucked," he argued. "I told y'all not to sign that shit Dre."

"Nigga I got bills to pay. And I got to put some money in my mom's hand after Tyree died."

"Cube we had to," I said. "I got my own problems too."

"Like what?"

"Like helping my brothers pay bills plus two of them got babies on the way. I wanna help them."

"Cube, we Ruthless," Dre said.

"We N.W.A. They Ruthless." I glanced back at Eazy and Jerry. I don't understand what Cube is so worried about, Jerry is a good manager. Maybe there is something I should be concerned about.

"Yo Cube!" Someone shouted. "You coming?"

"Yeah hold up!" He shouted. "Look I gotta go. Bye Dre." He held his hand out dap him but Dre just walked away.

I shook my head at him.

"I'm not mad that you leaving," I told him. "If you want to leave the group then fine, it's your decision."

"You can come too."

"No. I'm staying in N.W.A."

"Aight. See you around then."

"Yeah." We dapped each other. "Bye O'Shea."

"Bye Tamera."

"Tell Jinx I said 'hey.'"

He nodded. I threw my backpack on my shoulder and walked off the my brothers car.

"What's up bitches?" I said to them.

"Hey sis," Martin greeted.

"How was life on the road?" DJ asked.

"Exhausting," I stressed.

"I bet," Dwayne agreed.

"Y'all miss me?"

"No," Anthony said.

"Yeah right. Let's get out of here."

It feels good to be back home. I have money now and N.W.A might be ready for a new album, but its not gonna be the same without Cube. I gotta a strong feeling a lot of things are gonna change, I'll wait and see.
