"Lovebirds"

Normal POV:

"This can't be happening...not again" Matt said frowning and looked at the ground." You patted him gently on the back in an attempt to calm him down. He looked at you and flashed a small smile which you returned. Mello cracked his knuckles and stood up from where he was sitting. You backed away a little as Mello came up to Matt and put a hand on his shoulder making Matt look up at him. "Matt, I need you in this and it's important to me-well to all of us, that you're fully focused and functioning. I don't want you dying on me here. Have I made myself clear?"  Mello said sternly. "Yes" Matt answered simply. Mello removed his hand from Matt's shoulder. "Now, since nobody's sure when everything's going down..." Mello started. "I" he pointed at him self "Want you two lovebirds" he pointed at you two "to stay here until it's all over" he pointed to the ground and left the room but not before snapping a piece of his chocolate bar.

You blushed at the "lovebirds" part. Matt chuckled at the sight to which you blushed even more. "You okay?" Matt smirked at you. You smiled while nodding frantically "Y-yeah". There was a short silent pause. "But more importantly...are you?" You smiled weakly at him. His smile faded before coming back again "Yeah I'm fine" He said. "You don't seem fine though? You can tell me anything Matt, don't you trust me?" You walked closer to him. He ran a hand through his hair and pulled the goggles that hung from his neck up to his forehead. "You're worried about Mello, aren't you?" You asked in a sad tone. "I just...can't imagine what I would do without the guy, you know? We grew up together and relied on each other ever since we became best friends. I'm just not ready to see him fall yet..." He sighed. "But I'm sure everything will be fine" he smiled. You smiled back and nodded. And there came the silent pause again. You both stood there looking at each other. "Y/N?" Matt started.

"Yes?" you tilted your head a little. "What do you say we make our 'possible' last moments count?" he walked closer with a smug look on his face. "What do you me-" he pushed you against the wall before you could finish your sentence. By now your face was beet red. "W-what are you doing?" you stuttered. He didn't answer, instead he pressed himself against you and grabbed one side of your face with his hand. You got the memo and started leaning in to connect your lips to his. He started doing the same but before anything could happen somebody knocked on the door. Matt growled and pulled away shouting "what??" You both heard a yelp behind the door before it opened revealing the person you loathed more than anything else in the world. Silver walked in looking around the room before looking at Matt. "Have you seen Mello anywhere?"

Matt sighed "No idea, he didn't tell us"

"Oh" She glanced at the ground before looking up at him and walking closer. She seemed to be ignoring you because she didn't even look at you. You tensed up as she suddenly jumped up at Matt and hugged him tightly, resting her head on his chest. Matt opened his mouth to say something but closed it and awkwardly hugged her back, patting her back lightly. Silver looked up

at him as Matt seemed to be staring off into space. "Matty, will you protect me when they come to invade us?" she asked, her eyes sparkling. Matt glanced at you and then looked down at her "...Yeah...sure" he answered. She smiled widely and nuzzled up to him. "Wait, invade us? how do you know that?" he furrowed his eyebrows slightly. She put a finger to her bottom lip, pouting a little "Just guessing" she said kissing his cheek and letting go of him. "I'll see you later, I need to find Mello" she flashed him a closed eye toothed smile and walked out the door.

"What...was that?" Matt asked making a 'dafuq' face. You cleared your throat "Are you guys together or something?" Matt looked at you, lifting an eyebrow "no" he simply said. He looked very dissapointed.

A/N: School started, school trip, bad internet. These are all three reasons to why I haven't updated in so long. Sorry for the short chapters.
