I wake up to an alarm going off on my phone. Shit! I have the thing with Madison today. I hop out of jacks bed, which wakes him up. "What are you doing?" He asks, still very startled.
I didn't know he was awake so it scared the living daylights out of me. I throw my shirt on cause I only had on my sports bra since jack was unusually warm.
"I've got a thing"
"Very descriptive!" He teases.
"I meant that I met this girl at Starbucks the other day and we're gonna meet up today."
"I can take you if you want"
"Thanks."
I go to the kitchen and make some eggs. I sit down to eat. Suddenly, someone grabs my shoulders. I scream and turn around to see Jonah. "God dammit jonah, you scared the shit out of me"
"I try!" He says sarcastically. We both laugh. "Anyway, where are you going?"
"I met this girl at a Starbucks and I'm going to go eat lunch with her."
"OoH a DaTe!!!" He yells so all the other boys can hear.
"It's not a date!" I say. I wish it was.
"OoOoOoH!"
"What?"
"You said that out loud!" Dammit.
"I have to leave soon, so you ought to stop teasing me so I can eat."
"Suit yourself" He says as he walks away.
I finish my eggs and get dressed. I always keep a change of clothes in the mini backpack I use as a purse. I really don't know why. "Ready?" Jack calls from the front door.
"Keys, idiot!" I throw his keys at him and he drops them. "Nice catch" I say sarcastically. He rolls his eyes and we get in his car. I would drive myself but I'm not legally allowed to drive without someone over 21 in the car with me. We pull into the parking lot of the cafe that madison and I were going to meet at. I wave goodbye and walk into the restaurant. I see Madison at a table. I sit down across from her. "Hey!" I say.
"Hey! I was worried you would flake."
"Why?"
"I just have had bad experiences with flaking before."
"Oh. Well, How have you been?" I ask, hoping to lighten the mood.
"Eh, I recently got adopted but she's not the best at parenting."
"I didn't know you were an orphan! Now we have one thing in common." She giggles. God, it was so cute. A waiter walks up to our table and takes our orders. We chat for a while. She also plays piano and Harry Potter is her oxygen(same boo). She tells me about how she is a gymnast and jessie paege is senpai(aw yisss). Our food arrives and madison inhales it. "Have you not eaten in a week or are you just really hungry?"
"Sorry, I really am hungry though. My new mom NEVER HAS ANY FUCKING FOOD."
"Ugh, I know that feeling. The first week I was at Logan's he didnt have any food except cereal. I can't only eat cereal. I'm a growing boy, you know." We burst into laughter. We finish our food and the waiter comes with the check. I pull out my wallet to pay, but madison had already given him her debit card. "You didn't have to pay, I could have done it."
"I know, but it's nice." She says. Mmmmk. "I know it's kind of insensitive of me, but was that boy that dropped you off your boyfriend?"
"Ooohhh no. Do you have a boyfriend?
"No, I'm as single as you." We just sort of sit there awkwardly. I can tell I'm blushing, she is too. I get a text from Logan.
L- im here to pick you up.
T- ok, be out in a sec
"My dad's here, I've got to go. This was fun!"
"Ok, bye"
"What's wrong?" Did I say something wrong?
"Oh, nothing."
"Alright, bye!" She waves as I walk to Logan's car.
"So, how was your date?" He asks the moment I get in the car.
"It wasn't a date! Let me guess, Jonah told you it was a date."
"Yep. Still, how did it go?"
"Really well. It got a little awkward at the end though."
"Was it all that surprising? It was a first date."
"IT WASNT A DATE!!!!!" He just rolls his eyes as we drive back to the house.
