I gasp dramatically. "Surprise!" The boys yell.
"How did you know?" I ask.
"Logan texted and said you liked Hamilton and we just so happened to be working on songs for a movie with lin, so we knew you'd want to see him."
"The boys told me you were playing Hamilton songs on the piano and that you were really good." Lin says.
Oh my god. Lin-Manuel Miranda is talking to me. How is his happening?
"What's your favorite song?" He asks.
"I'd have to say dear theodosia or non-stop."
"Could you play them for me?"
"Sure." I say. I'm still unsure if this is actually happening. I sit down at the piano play the songs. In the songs, there are multiple people singing, so lin joins in in dear theodosia as Hamilton. In non-stop, there are a ton of people singing, so the boys all join in too. Lin as Hamilton, me as burr, Zach as Angelica, jack as Eliza, Corbyn as Washington, and Daniel and Jonah as the background singers and extras. It was really fun, singing with all those people songs I really liked and were important to me. "Wow, you're really good" lin says. All of the boys agree and I blush. "You know what would be fun, if we had a production of hamilton with only kids and teens."
"That would be really fun. We all love Hamilton and have basically the whole musical memorized. We could all be in it and lin could direct." Jack says.
"What about you're movie?" I ask.
"That can wait, it's not coming out for a long time." Corbyn says.
"I know Zach told me not to say anything but I know he's got a thing for Trinity, so he could be Hamilton and she could be Eliza." Lin says.
"Hey!" Zach says and smacks lin.
"Anyway lover boy, we could hold auditions at the local theater in a few days." Zach smacks lin again as he says that. "Ow!"
"This'll be so cool! Let's have them at five on Thursday." I say.
The boys and lin go back to working on their songs and I text Logan.
T-will you pick me up?
L- yeah, is everything ok?
T- yes, the surprise is done
L-ok, be there in a bit
Logan arrives and I get in his car. "What was the surprise?" He asks.
"Oh, you know, only LIN-MANUEL MIRANDA!" I say.
"That's the Hamilton guy, right? That's really cool!" He says.
"Yeah! And get this, he's gonna hold a production of Hamilton with only teens and kids. All he boys and I were going to be in it, if that's ok with you."
"Of course! I support anything you want to do."
"Thanks, dad." I say.
A huge smile spreads across Logan's face.
"I-I mean Logan" the smile is quickly wiped away. "Dad" I say again. I didn't know he would be so emotional about it. I didn't think it was that big of a deal, since I've never had a real family before. We arrive at the apartment and I see Logan's desk in the corner all cleared out. A black baby grand piano replaces it. I smile. I walk over to it and run my fingers over the smooth keys. I can't believe Logan would get rid of all his stuff to give me a piano. He was still getting some things out of the car. I sat down on the stool and begin to play. I could tell it was brand new, it was in tune. I love to play on new instruments. The sounds are so crisp and soothing. I really sink in. Logan opens the door and i stop playing. I run over and hug him. "You like it?" He asks.
"Yeah! Thanks so much. Why did you get rid of all your stuff?"
"I knew you loved to play, plus I don't really use that desk. It was a better use of the space."
I let go of him and go back to playing.
Thursday
I wake up and go to the kitchen to make breakfast. I fry some eggs and sit down to eat. I check the time. 10:19 am. I have the auditions today! I forgot! I finish my breakfast and start to practice. I sing that would be enough, since it's primarily Eliza singing. I get a text from a number I don't recognize.

U-could you play piano at the auditions?
T-who is this? And yes, I will
U-it's lin, sorry. The boys gave me your number. Thanks, though. There's a keyboard at the theater.
T-ok, thanks for letting me know.
L- will you come half an hour early so we can help set up? I would really appreciate it.
T-sure. Anything I need to bring?
L- no, everything we need is already there.
T-ok, see you later!
L- bye!
Lin really was just as nice as everyone says he is. His wife is really lucky. I sit down at the piano and play for a while. I check the time again. 3:26 pm. Crap! I need to get ready. I get dressed and do my hair. Now that I think about it, I haven't seen Logan all day. I text him
T- where are you?
No response.
T- Logan?
Still no answer.
T- are you there?
I was starting to get worried. Where was he?
T- I don't know where you are, but I'm going to the theater for auditions.
The theater wasn't far, so I just walked. I arrive a few minutes before 4:30. "Hey!" Lin yells across the theater. "The keyboards over here. The boys will be here in a minute." As he says that the door opens and the boys walk in. "LETS GET THIS AUDITION STARTED!" Corbyn screams.
