Chapter Five – Not So Official Outing

Today was Luke and mine first date and official outing, I was excited. I was told what I could wear and I could not wear, for example no miniskirts. Who would wear a miniskirt in this weather, stupid woman. I was not impressed by this new rule at all. I found it rude and horrible the way this woman spoke to me so much so, I told Luke I do not ever want her speaking to me like that again. I could tell he got frustrated with me but I refused to be a walking talking Barbie for them.

Luke walked into my bedroom, he looked handsome he was wearing a suit; I was wearing a white long dress. “Are you ready?” He asked. I nodded at him and he opened the door for me, he was in one of his moods I could tell that by the frosty look on his face.

“Are you okay?” I asked, when he stopped and turned to me.

“Honestly, no.” He replied when he continued to walk. I stood still and did not move; he turned around and got frustrated with me, “Come on.” He said.

“Why are you not okay?” I asked.

“I am annoyed over your lack of respect for one of my mother’s oldest friends, if she tells you to wear something. Goddamn it Sophie, just do it.” I just stared at him in shock. He pushed his hands through his hair and sighed. Once more, I hated him and I hated this. The way he spoke to me was so uncalled for. I tried to be everything, get everyone to like me and it is making me miserable.

“I’m sorry that I am not perfect like you Luke, I am sorry that I refused for some over aged woman tell me how to dress. How to do this and how to do that."

“Louise knows what she is doing, come on lets go.” He replied.

“Go by yourself. I am fed up with you.” I muttered when I walked back to my room. I sat on my bed and just stared out of the window. His mood swings was hurting my ego and any feeling for him. Just then, he walked back into my room, his face seemed more annoyed than ever.

“When the tough get going, Sophie is going.” He said, “I swear, if you don’t come with me now, we are over.” His mouth opened and so did mine. We both seemed in shock in what he said and it hurt. It hurt knowing he would even say that, my heart shattered into a million little pieces. Why couldn’t he just be normal? Or maybe it is me who has the problem. I closed my eyes when a split went further into my heart and when that happened, a teardrop fell on the floor. He just broke my heart. We just started at each other, unable to know what to say. Finally, I spoke, it was simple.

“Bye then,” He stared at me, his jaw locked with anger.
