Chapter Nine - New Friendship and Slowly Moving On.

After my parents went out, I was sitting in the house by myself again. It has been a day since Ben rang me and I was honestly surprised he remembered my number, as he didn't write it down on the taxi as I was getting off. He rang me today asking me to meet him. So here I was meeting him today by the beach, it turned out he lived down the road so he was living by me all along and I did not even know.

When I headed out to the beach, someone called my name as I quickly turned around, I realised it was Ben. I flung my hands out and he runs up to me.

"Hey, I saw you walking so I thought why not walk with my favorite little werewolf, how are you today?." I grinned at him. Being in this community, everyone was one creature or another.

"I'm good and how are you?" I asked him when we started to walk faster to the beach. I loved the beach.

"I am great now. Heard anything off your ex-boyfriend." I sighed. I really did not want to speak to him or about him. His lack of concern said it all when he told me to basically leave and when he did not fight for me.

"Nope, it was all peace and quiet." I replied.

"That is a shame if he can't see what a fantastic person he got from a mate?" I looked down and I refused to let these tears get the better of me. I would not let him win. He showed no concern about me whatsoever, so why I should care whether he contacted me or not. It was pathetic, but I always did wear my heart on my sleeves.

"Guess I am unlucky in love. Anyway, how long have you lived in this town for?"

"All my life but since my mother's death two months ago, she left me the house so it is not like I am going anywhere soon." I mouth opened with shock. How do I respond to that.

"I am so sorry Ben. I really do put my foot into it sometimes. Hope you are okay." I muttered. When he smiled at me.

"Don't be silly, stop putting yourself down. I think you are amazing."

After that day at the beach, we started to meet more and more. I liked him, he was so different to Luke while Luke was uncaring and selfish. Ben was amazingly kind with a nice personality and soul to match. I was happy when he wanted to see more and more of me. My dad was worried about me, he thought as I had a mate, I should not be spending so much time with another man. I tried my hardest to explain we was just friends, but I knew it went through one ear and out the other.

"What are you doing?" I looked behind me and I saw Megan.

"Stalking Luke's page. Don't look at me like that." I quickly added I know her so well. She grabbed a seat and looked at the pictures in front of us. There were a couple new pictures of Luke with different girls.

"She looks like she has been around the block a few hundred times and she has a man face. Oh god, what is she wearing there is a thing called clothes. Dog face, monkey breath." By now I was laughing. My sides were hurting me.

"Are you serious, how can you tell she got bad breath?"

"He is leaning away from her kind of like back away monkey breath." I smirked at my little sister who got cheeky over the past couple of years.

"You seem happy with the human." She smiled at me.

"That is because I am happy. He makes me feel whole."

"He never made me feel whole just alone." It was sad but true. At least with Ben, I never feel alone. I don't feel like I am getting in his way. That was the difference with Luke, I felt I had to fight for his attention but with Ben, his attention has been just for me. It felt nice wanting to be wanted.

"Tell me about Ben?"

"He is amazing, that is all I can say."
