Chapter Seven – Compatible

***Unedited***

Sophie P.O.V

It has been a month since the funeral for Rose and Luke has been coping the best way he could. I was amazed by how much he could handle. I knocked on his door and opened it. He was in bed reading a book, a sight I never thought I would see. He put his book down and looked straight at me with a curious look. I walked over to him and sat next to him on the bed. I took his hand.

“How are you feeling today?” I asked him.

“Hungry.” His lips went into a smirk unlike mine who knew he was not taking this serious.

“Be serious.” I said annoyed. He was really annoying in the morning and today was a prime example on how annoying he can be.

“I am feeling good Soph. Stop worrying about me and worry about yourself. I was thinking that today we could order you some new clothing. You will need them for any formal engagements. You are beautiful already but you cannot wear jeans when you are attending the hospital.” I felt offended that he would think I would wear jeans to a formal occasion.

I decided to let it go above my head, “Okay.”

“You can choose what you wish to wear. I believe that you look beautiful in anything you wear. I just know the press will rip you into million little pieces if you do not wear a dress.” Luke said he was trying to dig himself deeper into the hole.

“It is fine don’t keep on.” I muttered. “Luke are you sure you are okay? I am worried about you. You did not cry at the funeral. I won’t judge you if you did, if that is what you are worried about.” Luke looked at me, really looked at me. He grabbed me and pushed me further into his arms. As he kissed the top of my forehead. He shook his head in anger.

“I did cry for her Sophie, but I realised that the weaker I am feeling. The stronger my half-brother gets, and then I realised if something happened to you I would not be able to forgive myself.” We looked at each other when he leans in as he kissed me. I felt a tear on my cheek, it was not mine as I separated myself from him. I touched his cheek; he grabbed my hand and put them on his stomach. “Please stay in here tonight Sophie.”

Luke P.O.V

I watched Sophie as she slept, I could not believe how horrible some people are. Two weeks ago, I had a warning that they knew about her, my mate. The only thing I could do was keep calm and think quickly on my feet. I could not let my grief for my cousin come through because I was so concerned about Sophie. I had no idea if I should tell her or not. I did not want her to worry. I felt there was no need for it; I had secured and hired bodyguards for Sophie, her family and mine. I gently got out of the bed and opened the fireplace, as it opened quickly. I grabbed a candle that was lit and I walked through the fireplace not before closing it.

“Brother.” I looked to my left and I saw my sister Mary. She run up to me and hugged me. As she started to cry, the tears would not stop. I was no comfort but a strong pair of arms.

“Shh it will be okay.” I said. She looked at me through her big brown eyes, she always did look like my mother. My dearest mother.

“Rose is dead. I could not believe it brother. I found myself in Italy for a short while when I heard about it. Did she die in pain?” Mary asked me. I led her further into the secret meeting room when I saw my brother, uncle and bodyguards.

“No Mary, she would have died peacefully I promise.” Mary hugged me tighter when I looked at my brother, “Ethan.” He nodded at me before bringing his mate forward. She bowed for Mary and I. Her hair was dark black and she had brown eyes, she was from Spain originally, she was from the Abar werewolf community, in Spain there were no royal family only Alpha’s unlike here and America.
