"I'm a grenade. And at some time I'm going to blow up and I would like to minimise the casualties, okay?"
-Hazel Grace Lancaster, John Green, The Fault in Our Stars

I don't know how it happened.

Yesterday I was flying back to South Africa, I got home, went to sleep - in my own bed! - and woke up in an entirely different room.

But let me start from the beginning.

§

I groaned and sat up on my bed. I looked out the window and saw the sun was out early.

"How does that happen?" I asked and looked at my clock on my bedside table. 12:54. I cursed and rushed out of bed, getting ready as fast as I could.

Hi, I'm Angle Starr. I'm 22 years old and work as an author in South Africa, Durban. I live by myself and am quite happy with my life right now.

"Have I got everything?" I asked myself and checked the entire room again. 'I don't have time for this!'

I rushed out of the room and down the hall. The receptionist said something to me but I paid no mind. I was late for crying out loud! When I got out the doors I was relieved to see that my Uber was actually waiting for me.

"Hello, miss." He said as I entered. I gave him a small smile but stayed silent, observing what he looked like.

He looked like he was in his late thirties a few grey strands of hair mixing with his chestnut hair. He had brown eyes and seemed to understand that I didn't want to talk so he kept quiet.

Note to self; give this guy five stars.

"And we're here." He said as the car stopped.

I quickly gave him his money and ran out of the car, being careful not to bump into anyone. There was a group of guys that I bumped into but I didn't stop. I only turned around and yelled, "Sorry!"

"It's okay!" I heard him yell back and heard a few laughs.

I sat in my seat with a sigh. I couldn't stop the grin that crept onto my face when I realised that I made it onto the plane on time. Yes!

I realised that there wasn't a lot of people on the plane and I prayed that nobody would sit next to me. I pulled out The Fault in Our Stars and decided to start it while I waited for the flight to take lift off.

After a few minutes, I felt the plane start to move. I put my bookmark in the book and closed it. I put it back in my bag and looked out the window. Once we were in the air I looked out of the window for a few more minutes before I looked next to me.

No one.

I smiled and decided to just read The Fault in Our Stars until we landed. I had my highlighter ready for my favourite parts.

"Excuse me, miss?" A flight attendant asked from next to me. I looked up from my book and realised that I was in a small ball.

"Yes?" I asked with a small smile which she returned.

"Can I get you anything to drink?" She asked and I glanced at her cart.
