~3rd Person~
A year agoScreams erupt as a fire blazes. Heat sears the outside trees and green grass. The screaming stops. The fire continues to burn away the once beautiful New York home. Sirens blare from down the road.
A man walks away, whistling a sadistic tune. His view of the world is tinted red, but not from the blood he sheds. Blonde hair whips in the wind.

Present daySteven and I sat inside of my room. After my confession, he thought it was best he come back here with me, to try and figure things out. If he was right about my parents being involved with Vampires, and I was right about the fire being caused by a person, then maybe the two things are connected.
"What else can you tell me about them?" He asked.
I shrugged. "Honestly, I don't know. They were good people. They were never involved with their work for too long. They spent time with us and supported us and we all had dinner together most nights. We were a family. And I had no idea about the existence of Vampires, or anything else, until a few weeks ago."
Steven looked stumped. His eyes were glossy, like he was far away inside of his mind.
"Steven?" I asked softly.
He shook his head. "It's possible a Vampire could have burned your house down. Maybe they got to close to the existence of us or something bigger. I'm not sure, but I'm sorry."
"Me too, but for what I've said and done. You're different. You're not a killer like in the movies. And you kept away from me like I asked." I frowned and looked down at my lap.
"If you'd rather me continue to stay away, I can go right now. You'll never see me again." He said seriously. I felt my heart clench.
"Steven.... Maybe having you around is a good thing. I mean.... I haven't felt this way since James..." I felt my cheeks heat up and I turned my head, letting my blue hair cover my face.
"Felt what way?" He asked. He was either oblivious, or just acted like it.
"Happy." I spoke softly. I knew he could hear me, assuming he had supernatural hearing.
"What do you want? I mean... From me..." He looked to the ground and I finally looked back up at him.
"I'm willing to forget out first date didn't happen if you're willing to take me on another one." I said, a hint of a smile on my lips.
"Really?" He asked, a smile forming on his pink lips.
"Really." I state, smiling. He grins.
"Tomorrow at 7?"
"Sounds like a plan." I grin.

I laughed as I sat in Steven's car with him. He pulled up to a park, parking the car and looking over at me. His green eyes were full of joy, locked onto my face.
"What?" I asked softly, feeling my cheeks heat up.
"You're beautiful." He said with a shrug.
"Why are we here?" I asked, looking around at the park. The leaves of the trees swayed softly in the wind.
"Come on." He said. He got out of the car and I followed. He walked into the park and flopped onto the ground in the middle of it. I laid next to him, my eyebrows quirked in confusion.
"What is this?" I asked, looking at him.
"Our date," He said, wrapping an arm around me. "Look, the stars are shining bright tonight and the moon is full."
