"There's Been An Accident"

*Maddie's POV*

I wake up to a quiet house, which is not normal. I get out of bed and walk into the living area. I find Niall on the couch with Olivia asleep on his chest. I smile and sit down next to him.

"Thanks for letting me sleep in." I tell him. "Of course babe. Feeling better?" He asks and I nod. I sigh and look at my baby girl.

"So what time do you have to leave today?" I ask him. Our eyes meet and he leans in to kiss me. "3pm. But I will be back in 2 days okay? Just a quick trip. I promise." He reminds me.

"I know, It's just. Liv is only a month old. And I know I'll be able to take care of her, it's just. I like having you here with me. We're a team." I admit.

"I know. I don't want to leave my girls. But I have to for the band." He says. He hands Olivia to me and stands up to walk into the kitchen. I hear him opening cabinets and soon he comes back with 2 cups of tea. He sits back down and kisses the top of Liv's head. "I'll be back before you know it." He whispers as if she understands. But it's still cute so I smile and nod. I know it's only 2 days but I'm still going to miss him.

I kiss Niall goodbye as we stand in the airport. He leans over the stroller and kisses our baby girl's head and looks back at me. "Two days." He reminds me. I just nod and hug him. I say goodbye to the other guys as well before watching them board the plane. I hold onto the  stroller handle tightly as Niall disappears from sight.

"I can do this. I can be a single mom for two days." I say to myself as I look down at my beautiful baby girl who is asleep. "Let's go home." I say and walk to the car.

*2 Days Later*

I throw my hair up into a messy bun and put my sweat pants on. I look outside and see that it is raining so I also grab my umbrella and the cover for Olivia's stroller. I strap Liv into the car and then get in myself. I buckle my seat belt and turn on the car.

I start driving just as the storm gets stronger. I drive carefully as the rain is pouring down on the windshield. I can barely see where I am going but I know the airport isn't much further. So, stupidly I push my luck and continue driving. I start feeling the car gliding as I tighten my grip on the steering wheel. All of a sudden I lose control and watch as the car starts spinning. All I can think of is my innocent little baby girl in the back seat and how there is nothing I can do to protect her. Then, the car comes to a stop and it all goes black.

*Niall's POV*

As I'm stepping off of the plane, I look around for Maddie. "She's probably just in the bathroom or something." Harry says but then I look outside. "Did it just start storming?" I ask. Harry looks and nods. "Wow. Yeah we just missed that." he says but my mind goes to something else.

Maddie.

She doesn't like driving in the rain or snow. Hell, she doesn't like driving period.

Then, my phone rings.

I look up at the boys with fear in my eyes. "It's the hospital." I say before pressing the answer button.

"Hello?" I say, as the boys gather around me.

"Hello. Is this Niall Horan?" The lady asks. "Yes. I'm Niall." I tell her.

I can hear the sadness in her voice. She sighs before continuing.

"I'm so sorry but there's been an accident." She says and I can feel my heart breaking.

"What kind of an accident? Who was in an accident?" I ask and the boys look worried. "It was a car accident. Your girlfriend Maddie and your daughter." She tells me. "Okay. I'll be there as soon as I can." I tell her before hanging up.

The boys stand around me. "We have to go to the hospital." Is all I say as we rush to Louis' car. He drives safely but quickly in the rain as I try and catch my breath. "Please be okay. Please." I beg out loud. Nobody says anything because I'm sure they are all thinking the same thing.

We finally make it to the hospital and I run inside to the front desk. "I'm here for Maddie and my daughter Olivia." I tell the lady at the desk. But before she could say anything, a man approaches me and the boys.

"Are you Niall?" he asks me and I nod. "Your daughter is fine. Just some cuts and bruises but she is okay." he tells me and I feel my body relax a little.

"What about Maddie? How is Madison?" I ask him and he sighs. "She's in surgery right now. She took some head damage and dislocated her shoulder. I'll let you know when she is out. But for now, you can see your daughter." He says as tears fall down my cheeks.

The boys and I follow him to a small room where I spot my daughter. I walk up to the baby hospital crib and look down at her. She's covered in scraps and bruises but she doesn't seem to be in pain as she sleeps peacefully.

Tears well up in my eyes as I look down at my precious daughter. "She looks just like Maddie." I say allowed.

"She'll be okay, Niall." I hear Harry say as he places his hand on my shoulder for comfort. "How do you know that?" I say, crying. "What if she doesn't make it? Olivia will have to grow up without a mother." I tell them. "Hey. Don't talk like that. Your daughter needs you to be strong." Louis says, snapping me out of my negative thoughts. "You're right. She needs me." I say, leaning over and kissing my daughters head.

About an hour went by when the doctor walked into the room. "Excuse me, Niall?" He says and I turn to look at him as he continues.

"Madison is out of surgery and she's asking for you."
