She's Not Here

*Niall's POV*

"Thank you London!" Liam yells. I wave goodbye and do my famous jump as the song ends.

I run backstage, following the other boys. "Exscuse me! Gotta get to Maddie!" I yell trying to push my way through to the dressing room. "Niall." I hear Lou Teasdale, our hairstylist say. "Not now Lou. I have to check on Maddie." I tell her. "She's not here." I hear her say and I stop dead in my tracks. "What?" I ask worriedly and turn around to look at her.

Everybody backstage including the boys now stop and look at me. "What the hell do you mean she's not here?" I ask in a frustrated tone.

"Paul took her home." She said and my heart stopped. "Oh my god Lou! I thought you were going to say hospital. Is she okay?!" I yelled and threw my hands up into the air. "Sorry. But she did say that she was having pain. So I would get home as soon as possible" She said and my eyes widened.

"Okay Bye!!" I say and run straight to the door. "Call if anything happens!" Harry yells. "Will do!" I yell back and run to my car. I see fans across the street so I quickly get in and drive away. "Please let Maddie not be in labor yet. Please. Please wait for me." I beg as I drive home in the dark.

Soon, I pull up to our flat and run inside. I unlock the door and take a deep breath. "Maddie?" I whispered. All of the lights were off. "Babe?" I say hoping she would answer.

I make my way to our bedroom and flick on the light and there she was, sound asleep all cuddled up in bed.

I was worried for nothing.

I undress and lay down next to her. "I'm sorry I left" She said with her sleepy voice. "It's okay. How are you feeling?" I asked and she opened her eyes to look at me. "I'm okay. Very tired. I was very uncomfortable so I asked Paul to bring me home." Her voice softened at the end as she drifted back to sleep. I kissed her head and closed my eyes falling asleep within seconds.

I woke up with a smile on my face as I opened my eyes. Maddie still lays next to me, hair sprawled out all over her pillow. I watched as her eyes slowly opened and she yawned. "Morning" She says. "Goodmorning" I say and she giggles. "What are you so happy about?" she asked and I laughed. I placed my hand on her belly and smiled. "I had a dream about her. She looked exactly like you" I tell her and her eyes lit up with happiness.

I walk into the kitchen and the smell of pancakes fill my nose. "Yes!!" I scream and sit down at the table. Maddie turns around and places a plateful on the table. She hands me a cup of tea and sits down. She looks so happy and she's glowing. "How are you feeling babe?" I ask before sipping at my tea. "Actually. Wonderful. I feel great. I slept good. I'm Happy. Very happy." She says and giggles. I say nothing and just stare at her. She hasn't been this happy in months.

I wonder why she is so happy......

The day went on as usual. Lazy day, laying around watching movies. Maddie fell asleep after the 3rd movie and I'm surprised she made it that far.

I checked the time and decided to go get something for dinner. I got off the couch and fixed the blanket on Maddie. I kissed her head and put my shoes on. I wrote a note and placed it next to her and grabbed my snapback. I opened the door and the sun was setting as I walked to my car. I turned the car on and drove away, trying to decide what to get for dinner.

I pull up to a chinese place and ordered. The lady hands me 2 bags and I exchange it with money. "Thank you" I say and she smiles.

I begin to pull away when my phone rings. I reach into my pocket and click answer. "Hello?" I ask. "Niall? Where are you?" Maddie asks. "I left a note babe. I'm getting dinner. I'm on my way home" I say and I hear her breath deeply. "Okay. Sorry. I woke up and you were gone so I got worried" She says. "It's okay. I'm on my way. Love u" I say and hang up.

*Maddie's POV*

I walk into the nursery with a smile on my face. I look around at the crib and clothing placed neatly in different parts of the room. I spot the hopsital bag on the rocking chair. I sigh as I pick it up.
"Clothes. Check. Blanket. Check. Bottles. Check. Carseat over there." i say and turn around to a grinning blonde boy.

"Just checking" I blush and he laughs. "Babe. You've been checking everyday for the past 3 weeks. I think we have everything ready" he says and I nod, knowing he is right. I'm just so excited to meet our baby girl. She really is such a blessing already.

"I'm hungry" I say and walk out of the nursery and into the kitchen. "Chinese?" I ask and he nods. "How do you always know exactly what I want?" I ask and he shrugs. "That's all you've been craving during your pregnancy. Chinese food." he jokes, laughing as we sit down to eat.
