I awoke well before the sun, much to excited to sleep. Tugging on my favorite pair of brown pants, and singlet shirt, then putting my boots on. Putting on my gun holster and quill holder, then walking to the mirror hanging on the wall outside my room to do my hair in a lose ponytail. Picking up my gun and holstering it, I decide on my hunters knife and the new pocket knife that I collected from the soldier that I killed, placing them in my boots.
I walk into the kitchen and wash my face and hands in the bowl of water that I have there, then going through the basket that the apes gave me and taking out some dried venison for breakfast.
After about an hour, they arrived. Caesar walking tall, leading the group of hunters, all painted to look like skeletons. Collecting my bow, in walked out to meet them midway.
"You look very intimidating" I say to Caesar, standing a few meters ahead of him, trying not to smile.
"That was the point" he says smiling in return, walking to me, his group staying about 3 meters away. 'Still scared I guess' I thought, with a mental laugh. A young ape then followed Caesar towards me, stopping my thought process almost instantly.
"Hello" I smile to him, when he reached us, he looked so much younger then the other apes that Caesar had bought for the hunting party."Krista, this is one of my sons, blue eyes" he said, watching my reaction closely.
"Your son?" I asked, stepping around Caesar to meet him properly.
"It's very nice to meet you blue eyes, I'm Krista" he looked to his father briefly before turning back to me. His eyes seemed to light up as if coming to some sort of conclusion, he then begun to smile smugly. Signing something to me, in which I awaited for Caesar to translate.
"It's very nice to meet you too Krista" Caesar dead paned, I think that wasn't exactly what he said."Are you ready to go?" He asked quietly, Turing from blue eyes, I'm guessing that he didn't want the other apes to hear him. Throwing a glance back to them, my eyes meet a scarred face. His eyes glare holes into my soul, filling me with fear.
"As ready as I'll ever be" I smile at Caesar, tearing my eyes from the demon apes face. He looks at me, I know that he can see the mid fear on my face.He holds a hand out to me, I take it and let him lead me, following him wherever he wishes me to go.
• CEASAR'S POV •
Her eyes fill with fear, not from me though. She was looking behind me, I had feeling that it was, koba. Holding the anger that wished to bust from my chest, I instead held my hand out for her to take.
Once her hand took mine I turned back to the group and walked to the head of the pack, ignoring koba, I will deal with him later. I let go of her hand, if I was going to have her, I must court her properly. I will abide by the ways of our people, and then make her my queen I decided.
We walked for around half an hour into the woods before I felt Krista gently touch my bicep. I stopped and turn back to her, she was looking at the ground to the right to her.
"Deer tracks, Caesar. Look" she whispered, pointing at the ground where she was staring.
"I can't see anything" I whisper back, eyes searching the spot she was pointing at. Her hand squeezed my bicep before she let go, walking in the direction that she was staring. I turn to the hunting group, signing for them to keep close and quiet before I turn to following her. After following her for around 5 minutes, she squatted and began to creep low, taking out her bow and arming herself. With a raise of my hand I told everyone else to to the same, another 5-10 minutes past before I saw the herd. They were big and muscular, perfect pray. I could count five doe, two of which had young, and 6 bucks. We usually leave the doe and a male or two, to help the herd repopulate after we hunt. So we could potentially get 5 kills out of this hunt, one of our better outcomes.
Krista blindly threw a hand out to me, still starring at the deer ahead of us. Catching her hand, I let her pull me forward, until my squatted legs were bracing one side of her. She then turned back to me briefly, our faces centimeters apart, before she turn back and lifted the hand that I wasn't holding to point at 2 more bucks that were deeper into the bush. 'Thank god that I bought her along, I mean I doubt that we would have even found this herd without Krista' I thought to myself.
Giving her hand a quick squeeze, I let go. Turning to the hunting party "surround them, and be cautious of the two bucks in the brush behinds and to the left the main group" I signed to them, watching them move out, follow my orders. Time to hunt...

Hello!
No I'm not dead, but I am sorry this chapter is so late. I was recently told by a colleague that because I'm getting older 😤 I may be 'let go' at my work, so I've been out job hunting.
I can't believe that business actually let people go because, they are getting older meaning that they have to get paid more. Ahh 😩 that's life I guess.Yay though, the story is progressing nicely if I do say so myself, Krista is meeting the kids so all is going to plan.
The next chapter will be more about her feelings about her and Caesars relationship, by the way.
So guys thanks for reading and please vote, comment and show your support, it only takes a second to vote and it tells me that you would like another chapter!
