the murder of the young male kim jaehwan was puzzling, it seemed as if he just dropped dead, other than the disgusting bubbles of blood in his throat that once produced such a beautiful voice. the scene as well as the bodies were examined, but no dna could be extracted, and the scene, just the humble apartment of the singer, had nothing misplaced nor was there even a murder weapon. the only thing odd about kim jaehwan's murder was that there was a drawing, quite innocently placed in jaehwan's stiff hand, containing quite a disturbing image.

it worried many of the officers in mnet county, but the level headed man, the sheriff, also known as hwang minhyun, kept the officers orderly as to bring justice to the dear passed kim jaehwan, who, even though sheriff minhyun had an issue with the singer before, got the focus of the sheriff. the first order of kim jaehwan's murder investigation was to search for artists around town and study their art styles as well as writing, which turned up as a fail, although a certain painter called jeong sewoon was pointed out as being highly nervous, and his ties to kim jaehwan made him a suspect of high factor.
a particular group of young officers named kim shihyun, hong eunki, park jihoon, kim taemin, bae jinyoung, as well as the brilliant young male samuel, were extremely excited about their first murder investigation. they still had the youthful blood running through their veins that drove them to go farther than any of the older officers would even attempt to now. their constant chatter about the case, even outside of work, helped the mnet county police department as the young boys created new formulas to the sad demise of kim jaehwan, trying to bring in a new puzzle and fit it together with the scattered pieces already gathered.

about three weeks after the murder of kim jaehwan, a young high school student known by the whole world, called lai guanlin, went missing. the news of his disappearance was announced extremely quick, as guanlin was part of a very popular intelligence based pair with an even younger boy named yoo seonho. the frantic call telling the police station that lai guanlin had gone missing was actually from yoo seonho, the young boy stating his worries about guanlin not being home for a little more than two hours.
now, as by the code, the mnet station responders to missing persons cases had to wait 24 hours before the person was actually dubbed missing, much to the anguish to seonho, who knew that the first hours of a person missing were vital to finding them or saving them from a sad end.
that of course was a rule that many officers dare not to oppose, unless you were inexperienced with the harsh punishments dealed out by country and sheriff, which nearly nobody wanted, especially with sheriff minhyun. now, being young and proud, the group of new officers jumped right into searching for guanlin behind the elder officer's backs.
