there those boys sat at the scene, samuel's eyes wide when he noticed them, processing that they were ones that were part of the car crash. taehyun had his face in his hands, leaning against a stop sign, his body wracked with emotion, as he was fairly close to jisung.
one of the officers that rushed upon the scene, taewoo, called kang daniel, jisung's practically adopted son and informed him of the situation and why the male couldn't be there for his graduation, which initiated a complete panic in the wide shouldered boy, the call being cut off immediately after taewoo told those unwanted words to him.
giving the information to the detectives was briefly forgotten in the display of a catastrophic event, even worse considering jisung and their own officers were involved. almost everybody from the mnet county office was there, including seongri and jaewoo, the elder detective surveying the scene with sharp eyes.
taehyun, leaned against the stop sign, with a shaking hand, pulled out a cigarette, sticking it between his teeth without actually lighting it, his face sickly pale. stood by the crunched cars, seongri whispered words to jaewoo, the young boy nodding along. seongri's gaze flickered over to the young officers sat on the sidewalk for a brief moment, then he nudged jaewoo their way, most likely for brief interrogation.
jihoon watched the rookie detective walk towards them, jaewoo's steps heavy, his long hair a curtain over his face. everybody with the exception of seongri and jaewoo jumped when the dark haired boy suddenly whistled sharply, his steps abruptly sure and light after he made the loud noise.
jaewoo didn't even tilt his head down to look at the boys, but he smiled wide. "jihoon, jinyoung, shihyun, taemin. it's a pleasure to meet you fine group of boys. i hope you don't mind me asking you a few questions, i'm a mere ambitious apprentice detective."
jinyoung looked excited for the first time in a week, his eyes going from jihoon to jaewoo. "it's never a bother for a bit of information to be shared. what do you wish to ask?"
jaewoo sighed. "well, you know you can be charged with murder of sweet jisung. the only way to be cleared of so is if you tell me the details of what happened prior to the crash."
taemin wiped away tears from his red eyes. "well, we were heading to get our hair dyed, since eunki said we'd be better stake-out cops if we had darker hair. from some cafe by the park we were at we got water that we all agreed tasted weird, but none of us suspected anything..."
"we then got into the car," jinyoung continued, "after that none of us can remember much, jihoon recalled the most."
jihoon glanced at jinyoung then jaewoo. "why aren't you looking at us?" he blurted suddenly to the detective. taemin glared at the boy, probably understanding that the question could be read as abrasive.
jaewoo, surprisingly, laughed brightly, brushing dark hair away from his face, his eyes a piercing pearl color. "i'm blind, jihoon. there's no point of me looking at you."

"where are we even?" woojin rasped to daehwi, shirts clinging to their skin, the sun having dried the cloth onto their bodies. woojin couldn't walk with how bad his leg was injured (it hurt just to look at how twisted it was), so he was leaned heavily on daehwi, who looked like he was straining to keep them both up, especially after dragging woojin out of the river as well as assisting him with swimming.
daehwi glanced around at the unfamiliar scenery, a busy city next to the river, people bustling along, not even giving a glance at the two boys that looked as if they were just drug through the hunger games. "i... have no idea. let's see if we can borrow somebody's phone."
woojin didn't say anything, he was too tired, he could barely stay concious. leaning heavily against daehwi's bony side, woojin couldn't even make an attempt to be lighter on pressure for the younger boy. daehwi, going red in the face while woojin got pale, inched both of them forward, veins bulging in his neck.
"excuse me," daehwi yelled out to the people that practically ran on the sidewalk, bags in their hands and phones to their ears, "hello!"
nobody seemed to react to them, then a pair of highly rich males paused and gave them a once over, the busy workers late to their job swirling to the other sides of them, not bothering to give a dirty look to the road blocks.
daehwi didn't see the two men approaching and collapsed onto the wet grass, woojin flopping on top of him, color still draining from his face. towering over the young boys, the pair of rich businessmen picked them up gently in their arms, and conciousness gradually slipped away from them, their minds only remembering gentle dark eyes.

jihoon and shihyun seemed uncomfortable around all the officers and detectives. shihyun kept giving anxious glances to longguo, who had burned off his anger but avoided jaewoo the best he could. jihoon just seemed agitated, pulling at his hair, most likely at himself that he could recall the most but wasn't able to remember who gave them the drugged water.
jaewoo had left the four boys, now he stood aside seongri, whispering details of the small interrogation. seongri saw jinyoung and jihoon staring at him, so he put on a poker face, looking at the crushed car of jisung's, the shattered window still dripping blood.
kiwon, one of the officers that has been around for a long time, was assigned to try and pull jisung's body out of the car without tearing it, suddenly gasped, flying back, a red glove to his mouth.
"what is it?" minhyun snapped, anxious. kiwon's pupils shook, and he continued backing up until he stumbled over daehyun, a scene analyzer.
"t-there's one of those drawings in his pocket..."
