Chapter 8:Godly Cataclysm(Maxus POV, year 157)

     I was never so scared in my entire life.
     The fireball of G.A.W.D. was enormous. The weapon encasing shattered, throwing shrapnel everywhere. It released a wave of radioactive hellfire (fire from the Demon Hive, the deadliest fire of all) and it let out a sonic boom. Luckily, I was immune to all this, being the Fire Phoenix.
     I decided to start fighting. I used my strongest spell, Blazing Hellflame Hypersonic Divebomb of the Phoenix. I tucked in my wings, performed a special dance while reciting an incantation, and then I flew.
     I was engulfed in hellflame, going at hypersonic speed. I flew around, roasting demons, absorbing the hellflame the superweapon created, and generally wreaking fire-involved havoc.
     Right when I thought we were winning the battle, G.A.W.D. began Phase 2 of it's destruction.
     After verbally citing Phase 2 of it's command sequence, it turned the world into night. Then, the command module morphed into a beacon of death, sending magical laser beams everywhere. Both demons and gods were being hit by the beams, and when they got hit, they were severely wounded.
     Ergoraptor absorbed some of the beams, deflecting them and then sending them at demons. However, when he tried using Dragon Claw on the beacon, right before he made contact, the beam hit him and it went up his throat. Having no time to react, he died.
     When he fell over, quite a lot of demons were crushed, giving us a small edge in the battle. I continued to attack the demons with Blazing Hellflame Hypersonic Divebomb of the Phoenix. However, I was slowly losing energy.
     I knew once I ran out of energy, I would have to waste precious time that I didn't have resting. Man, I can't believe I was stupid enough to use my Final Ability! You're gonna die, Maxus!
     I decided suicide was the best option now. I would do as much damage as possible but at the same time I would die. I used my most powerful spell a second time, Blazing Hellflame Hypersonic Divebomb of the Phoenix, and then took to the skies.
      Once again I dived, but not at the demons-at the beacon, which was about to start it's Final Phase of it's destruction. I knew it would be worse than the first two, so I had to destroy the weapon before it went any further. I went headfirst, straight at the dying beacon, engulfed in hellflame, going hypersonic. I burned down every visible enemy, while charging at the beacon, blowing fire at it. My flame was so intense it negated the beam, but the beacon was still able to prepare for the Final Phase. Going as fast as I could, I charged the beacon, even though it was moving away from me using Magic.
     Eventually I started gaining on the beacon. Right before it started activating the Final Phase, I slammed into the beacon. We were engulfed in a ball of energy. After a few seconds, I heard this loud screech, followed by a shockwave. The beacon exploded, while I survived. I started to fly back down, tired, battered, and injured, but some of the fallout along with some shrapnel from the command module (beacon at the time) hit me, right at my head. Being two tired to heal myself, I said goodbye to the world. After coughing up some blood, I closed my eyes and then I drifted off into an endless sleep.
     I was dead.
