Chapter 17:First Day(Eric POV, year 620)

     Obviously there just had to be an application process.
     It was pretty quick though. Only one interesting thing happened-we had make abilities. I asked why.
     The lady said, "It is to minimize damage. You are to make and name an ability. You will also receive wristbands that restrain you from using any other Magic."
     I frowned but nodded. Lily went first. "I'd like to make an ability. I will call it Electro Wave. It releases a wave of electricity that shocks/powers anything within a medium distance. It also creates an electromagnetic field that attracts magnetic metal. Finally, I want to be able to control the voltage of the electric current."
     The woman nodded. She entered in some information and then gave her a wristband. When Lily put it on, it turned invisible.
     Magmagis went next. "My ability will be called Silver Wind. It infuses my powers of Air Magic and Dragon Magic. Whenever I activate it, I can control the air around me and with the Dragon Magic enhancement it can act as a shield or weapon."
     The woman gave him a wristband identical to Lily's. Now it was my turn.
     "I'd like to call my ability Morpheus. It combines my powers of Psychic Magic and Time Magic. It has two forms. One form puts the opponent to sleep. The other form puts the opponent to sleep, but it also stops time for the opponent and with the second form activated I can use Telekinesis, Memory Eraser and Mind Reader on that person. This also works on objects. On machines it will deactivate them, and on regular objects it won't put them to sleep but when I use my second form on a machine or object I can read the code and data in it and use Telekinesis on it."
     The woman nodded and did the same thing for me.
     "Now that you have your abilities, I will now measure the strength of your abilities that you created. This is for teacher purposes-you can choose to not tell your peers," she said.
     The levels were between 1 and 10. 1-2.5 was Weak, 2.6-5 was Average, 5.1-7 was Elite, 7.1-8.5 was S Tier and 8.6-10 was God Tier. I, being the amazing person I am, scored a 9.9. Lily scored a 7.6. And Magmagis, who I thought would've scored the least actually scored more than Lily this time-he scored a 7.9.
     After that, the lady told us to get to class. We arrived just as 1st period started-and for all three of us it was Math.
     So let me explain how this all works. We enter school when we are seven and we graduate when we are 20. I am currently 517, but biologically I am 20, so I was to be put in the 13th grade (the final one.) By the way, I turn 21 in month 8. Just saying.
     Also, the school year started at month 1 day 31. It ends at month 10 day 26. The rest of the year is pretty much no school.
     Lily is 509 but biologically she is 16. So she was put in the 9th grade. Magmagis is 512 but biologically he is 19. So he was put in the 12th grade.
     There were eight 50 minute periods per day. In between each period was a five minute passing period to get to the next class. Each period was a subject, excluding lunch. However, two periods were electives, and since we three had not chosen any yet, we had three free periods.
     So, my (Monday) schedule looked like this:
1st Period-Math

2nd Period-History and Geography

3rd Period-Biology and Physics

4th Period-Lunch

5th Period-Magic Studies and Chemistry

6th Period-Language

7th Period-N/A

8th Period-N/A
     School began at 8:25AM and ended at 3:45PM. And my first period was Math-or as I call it, Mental Abuse Towards Humans (yes, as soon as I saw the first number written on the board, I realized Math was actually teaching students about numerical logic and computation-which is super boring. Luckily it's easy so I don't have to pay attention.)
     While Mr. Zane was droning on about functions and irrational numbers which I really don't think I will use at all in life except in school (not to mention I already understood it) I completed about half of the Math Homework Book. Well, that's half of this year's math homework completed. Good for me.
      Second period-History and Geography. This was cake, as it was literally memorization. Mrs. Newman was telling us about the Battle of Kunikara at Kunikara I copied down the world's current geography. It looked like this:

     Then, I proceeded to memorize the entire map. Next, I went to third period-Biology and Physics. Nothing interesting happened here, so let's skip it.
     Fourth period-Lunch. At lunch I was barraged with questions, but when I told them that my ability was level 1.0, they shot gross looks at me and walked away. But did I care? No.
     Now, remember I was at this school on a mission? Well, I have already made an ingenious plan. Magmagis and Lily would become Royals so they could pass information to me while I would sneak around finding information pretending to be weak so less people would suspect me. Also, it would keep my popularity low.
     At seventh period, I met Magmagis and Lily at the cafeteria and then I told them my plan. They nodded. "Also, we should carry out this plan as fast as possible," I added. Lily then said, "I heard you can challenge the Royals whenever you want. So let's challenge them right now!"
     The two of them ran to the headmaster requesting to challenge the Royals. He asked which two. Obviously they didn't know their levels, so they attempted to guess. But before they could do that, I used Morpheus I on the headmaster. I then ran to his office and lifted the ability.
     I quickly whispered to my friends that I researched the levels of the current Royals during lunch. I told them each person's level:2 was 6.4, 3 was 6.6, 4 was 6.8, 5 was 7.2, 6 was 7.25, 7 was 7.275, 8 was 7.3, 9 was 7.38, 10 was 7.4, Jack was 7.5, Queen was 7.7(requires female gender), King was 7.8(requires male gender) and Ace was 8.2.
    The headmaster stared at me dumbfounded, while asking questions (in a shocked tone) such as "How did you know?! That information is only known by a few students and teachers!"
     I replied, "Let's just say I'm a good negotiator with a powerful ability. Say, headmaster, shouldn't you know what it is?"
    His face suddenly changed as if he completely understood. Then he asked, "So who will you two fight? By the way, Eric was completely right about the levels."
     Knowing my plan, Magmagis chose a mediocre number-6. Lily also chose a medium number-she chose 5.
     I chuckled. A level 7.9 vs a level 7.25 and a level 7.7 vs a level 7.2! This is hilarious! I thought to myself.
     The headmaster then announed the names of Royals 5 and 6 and then he asked them to go to the showdown stadium. We did too-the headmaster showed us the way.
     It was time for the fight. Many students and teachers had gathered at the stadium to watch. Magmagis was to fight 6, a boy named Aaron. His level was 7.25, and his ability (although I didn't tell this to anyone) was called Energy Ray. Unfortunately for him, Magmagis's Silver Wind could easily deflect it.
     Magmagis first threw some blades of wind at Aaron. They came at him faster than he could react which resulted in Aaron taking a critical hit. Magmagis then shot him upward with Silver Wind again. He went flying upwards and then he crashed on to the ground. Surprisingly, Aaron had not given up yet. He threw a beam at Magmagis but Magmagis simply blocked it with Silver Wind. To end the match, he sent a tornado of Silver Wind at Aaron. Magmagis had won.
     Aaron was taken to the infirmary. Now, it was Lily's turn to fight. She was fighting a girl named Stephanie. Stephanie's ability was called The Summoner, which summoned random monsters at will. She could either absorb the monster to gain it's power, or make it a guard. Also, up to six monsters can be summoned at once.
     Lily sent Electro Wave trough the ground. It shocked Stephanie. She retaliated by summoning a monster-and lucky her; she summoned a Phoenix. Not an adult, but still pretty strong.
     Lily sent a massive Electro Wave through the ground which made the stadium full of static, enhancing Lily's power. She sent multiple waves of electricity at Stephanie. I knew what she was doing-if she wasted power on the Phoenix, the match would never end. Also, if Stephanie was knocked out the Phoenix would disappear. So, the most logical thing to do was to evade the Phoenix while attacking Stephanie.
     Lily threw more electricity at Stephanie. Stephanie constantly attempted to block it by summoning monsters but eventually Lily overwhelmed her. With one final blow, Lily won.
     The crowd went silent. After a couple moments, they began to murmur among each other.
  "No way! Two Royals dethroned in one day?! This has never happened before."
"I know right? These newbies are really something-except for that guy over there sitting in the front."
     As soon as I heard that, I put the the guy who said it to sleep using Morpheus I, knowing he was talking about me.
