Chapter 5: A Walk To The Park...Well Mostly To The Store.

Anna woke up and went to the kitchen. She saw Jayden layed on the couch.

She went and examined his sleeping figure. He seemed peaceful. She didnt know that ghosts could get tired. His chest rose up and down.

She poked his cheek. He was warm instead of cold. She then realized that she could touch him.

Jayden woke up and saw Annas face above him. His eyes widened. He raised his head suddenly which came in contact with Anna's.

"What hell dude?!" Anna held her forehead while yelling at Jayden. "Not my fault! You had your face up in mine" He yelled. "The real question here is how was I able to feel your skin, shouldn't have my hand gone through you?"

"Right.." It was silent for a moment, until Jayden realized something. "It must mean that I got to that stage!" He said proudly.

"What does that mean?"

"Oh right, when a ghost has been dead each 6 months they get a new "ability" which mine is now I can actually touch." He said poking Anna's cheek.

"Stop poking me" Anna moved Jaydens hand away from her cheek. "Im going out to bring food"

"You have money?" He asked. "Of course I do!" She said. "Can I go? Im bored here" Jayden begged.

"Wont people see you?" "You're the only persom who can see right now. So no" He walked to the door. "Shall we go now?".

"Yeah, I guess" Anna grabbed her coat and walked out.

As they walked down the street, Jayden was admiring the sights. Anna observed him, Its like he hasnt been outside for years.

"Anna look!" Jayden pointed at a store. It was just a cafe. But then she saw that he was actually pointing at the poster saying "Help Wanted". "You might be able to get a job here" He smiled. Anna thought about it, "That might be a good idea"

They arrived to the store they needed to go. Anna grabbed a basket walked to aisles and grabbed essentials. Jayden kept annoying Anna to get him a kids toy.

At the check out, as Anna was looking for her wallet, the cashier looked at the two and smiled. "You two are a cute couple"

"Actually-" Anna was cut off by Jayden. "Thanks, we get told that" He smiled.

The cashier nodded and smiled at them as they left. Jayden held her hand and walked out.

Once they walked a few feet away from the store, he let go.

"I thought people wouldnt be able to see you?!" Anna yelled at Jayden.

"What's wrong about that? Also we should talk somewhere private darling" Jayden whispered to Anna. She looked around and saw people staring at her.

"Asshole.."

As they were walking, Anna caught something with her eye.

It was her ex with his girlfriend at the park where they met and broke up. She looked down and walked fast. Jayden noticed and caught up with her.

"Hey, why did you run off like that?"

"Im fine. Lets just go"

"You sure? I mean you s-"

"Im fine Jayden"

Jayden stopped asking questions.

At the apartment, it was quiet. Jayden cooked food since he was able to hold things now. Anna came out of the shower and dried her hair on the couch.

"Food is ready" Jayden said.

"Thanks"

When Jayden was going to leave. Anna stopped him.

"Wait Jayden" Anna stopped Jayden. "What?" He asked. "Im sorry for raising my voice at you" Anna looked down.

"Its fine" Jayden sat next to Anna.
"If I can ask, why did you run?"

"I saw my ex. With his girlfriend."

"Ah, so that's why. Shouldn't you be over it?"

"Its not that easy"

"Hmm, was it that Steve guy?"

Anna nodded

"Just remember. Love wont be kind to you on the first try." Jayden patted Anna on the shoulder. He got up and grabbed the toy that Anna got him.

"How about we play with this to lighten up the mood" He showed Anna a box that had pill like capsules with colored powder where if you put them in water they will turn into animals.

Anna agreed. For the rest of the day they played with the animals they received.
